Yep, it's "The Silurians".

Before they became Victorian and lesbian and hired comedy butlers.
I nearly said "I wonder if they'll skip Season 7", but clearly they haven't. Good thing, all excellent stories.
I don't think they have "Ambassadors of Death" because I've never seen it included in the recent re-runs - probably cos of the issues of mix of B&W/colour episodes; the DVD with remastered/colourised eps only came out a relatively short time ago I think ?
But certainly seen them show Spearhead & Inferno before, as well as The Silurians.

I read an interview with Moffat. Apparently the Christmas special will feature Santa Claus and Dr Who joining forces to take on Aliens. He says they are plaguerising the movie Alien and will base the aliens on the 'face huggers'.
He said that the last series took a hit on viewing figures following the move to 8.30pm. This was due to the regular slot being given to Strictly....shows how the BBC views the series I suppose. Mind you I would have said it lost viewers because the storylines are crap Smile
Potentially it lost a lot of the family audience - families with pre-teen children as they would most likely be in bed at 8 and the parents might choose to watch/do something else.

The clips shown of the Christmas Episode does imply an Alien type creature with the mouth opening and saliva dripping as always keeping an open mind in hope rather than expectation.

Yeah should be a decent comedy show with the lineup. bladewave
Think I'm going to be in the minority with what I'm about to say about this years Dr Who Xmas Special because I enjoyed it a lot. Just as you thought the story was going one way, it suddenly went another and as a result I was costantly trying to work out wtf was going on. Some nice nods to the alien films, inception and game of thrones

The first Episode of the next series (series 9) is the magician's apprentice and

I enjoyed that too. The trailer had me fooled, it looked like it was going to be a bit idiotic, but when the explanation rolled out it made quite a pleasing bit of sense, with a theme that got you thinking about the nature of consciousness etc. Add The Ring & The Shining to the shamelessly ripped off cameos, there was quite a bit crammed in, but that's ok, xmas specials have a bit more license.
And JLC looked outstandingly gorgeous in some of her scenes.
