Is Chibnall a better writer than Moffat or is he trying too hard?
Don't know if anyone is a Bond fan on Doctor Who but the reporter name given to Yasmin, Sofia Afzal is very close to the real name of a Bond girl Safira Afzal, that appeared in Octopussy with Roger Moore-just a coincidence?
Somewhat less terrible this week. Lenny was surprisingly good, by not playing it for laughs, thank goodness.
^ I agree, in fact I think I would have preferred him being the big bad, rather than them bringing The Master back.
Enjoyed this 2 part opener myself, looking forward to the rest of the series

I would have liked him to have played Joshua Yarlog, or Delbert Wilkins, or even Theophilus P Wildebeeste, but I realise those were long shots Big Laugh
I liked Part 2, especially the historical stuff with Babbage and Lovelace, and I did wonder how she managed to get the labels on the plane. Lenny Henry made a good villain, although at one point I was waiting for hiim to yell out "KATANGA, my friends!" Big Grin I don't think we've seen the last of The Master. Should be a good series as we've waited long enough and I wonder if Peter Capaldi might make another appearance.
wasn't Missy revealed as the Master in the last series? Tbh I don't think that there have been that many female villains (or should I say villainesses?) across the whole spectrum of Doctor who has there?
The series has now become as subtle as a house brick to the face. There was a good story this week (following on from the scattered improvements offered by a finally messy two-parter) overwhelmed by the showrunner's stupid agenda with putting polemics front and centre - at worst directly into the doctor's mouth to have her speak, almost down the camera lens, at the apparently, oh so hard of understanding viewer. Like Rosa's climax in S11 this patronising spoon-feeding fatally undermines any good work in the preceding 45. It is also no way to endear this incarnation to the widest audience. Chibnell it seems is still giving the wrong guidance to the writers and he's ensuring his overbearing stamp is bold across each story in these poor devices.

This article will save me repeating myself any further from last season: https://screenrant.com/doctor-who-season...ssage-bad/
Pt3 was interesting with Ryan falling for a tasty babe, the Doctor looking slightly more vulnerable and the premise that this was Earth in A future not THE future. Timely message about the planet and yes it was probably politically motivated but I thought it got a good message across - I was waiting for Greta Thunberg to appear and scold the Dregs - one of her looks could kill them stone dead! Big Grin
