^ Sorry I perhaps should have been clearer there. He's speaking not of content but of production. In other words the pool of writers pitched into each others scripts a bit during a couple of round tables.

I agree a show like Who should avoid all similarities it can to US series in styling and content.

The new trailer does a good job of showing just enough but not too much. It also acts as a follow on to the teaser quite nicely. It actually improves the former's substance.

First analysis of it: https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-...o-trailer/
More from SDCC:

First confirmed indications of writers for this season: Chibnall is doing 5 episodes, 2 others are by new to the series female writers. If the other three episodes are by different individuals too that means a writing team of 6 with Chibnall doing half the episodes. (I'm assuming these comments were about the main 10 episodes minus the Christmas special.)

There'll be no Daleks "this year":
https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-...no-daleks/

The official version of the complete SDCC panel from YT (warning if your teeth are sensitive to saccharine positivity please refrain Wink ). There are some interesting titbits on tone and character that do emerge though. There's the pretty telling revelation, for instance, that the references to the Doctor's gender come from other people's reactions to her in the circumstances she gets herself.

(As most of the news articles that followed today look like they've just pulled bits from these videos I'm not going to bother posting them. I'll return to doing so when they get back to conducting their own interviews Rolleyes... But then there was also nothing of interest - production, season content or otherwise - in the RT's interview with Bradley Walsh put up today either.)

What trailer clips fit where in what we know of the season so far:

More pics and info on the two weeks South Africa shoot in mid-January: https://doctorwhoproductionnews.blogspot...frica.html

Then we have the latest leak.Rolleyes You know I'd rather not know to much about plot and so forth going in to the show; but when the production team are a bit precious about the overt secrecy as this lot have been (not acknowledging there's going to be a TARDIS this season ffs, when we've all seen location photographs - I mean get over yourselves it's a TV show) it makes everyone hunt out stuff just thst little bit harder I think.

This lot of HQ photo's came from a public online portfolio of a freelance photographer hired to shot the production. It includes TARDIS interior shot, a pregnant man and Corrie's Julie Hesmondhalgh (isn't it?) as presumably the baddie of the week: https://twitter.com/th15matthew/status/1...5228694528 (Is there anyone from Broadchurch that isn't in this season of Doctor Who?! bladewave)
The two TARDIS interiors look like a before and after 13's revamp shot to me (or before and half way through if you see what I mean.)

And another, this time from DWM, although only LQ: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/00b...322f58.jpg

Pic of extra in costume from beach shoot I posted about a little while back: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...=3&theater

She has got such great energy and charisma here are she walks the runway if she can bring that to the role it will be a great. The only drawback I have is that I feel that she comes across as being to timid to take on all the villains so I am really keen to see how she channels her persona when she goes face to face with all the monsters. One of he reasons Gal Gadot works so well as Wonder Woman is that she has an athletic build and can give a stare down that you don't fuck with. You easily believe that this is a woman that can kick the fuck out a man, where as you don't get that with Jodie, I mean the Doctor is never meant to be a physically imposing person but all the actors that have portrayed the character since it's return have been able engage a certain amount of wrath that makes it believable that they are going to stop these violent and aggressive creatures. Personally after seeing Agent Carter if there was to be a female Doctor I would of loved Hayley Atwell to do it

Still not sure about the outfit but it's a big improvement on the clown costume. The hoodie could have some dramatic effect if used properly, though.

I've been purposely avoiding the trailers and other stuff (no offence to those who are taking the time to post them) in the hope of being pleasantly surprised when the series actually starts Smile
You may remember the story about Eccles charging a bomb for pictures at some convention. Well:

Peter Capaldi was also there and rather freer about taking pictures with all sorts of people:

Other pictures are on social media, like Noel Clarke and Pearl Mackie.
Looks like the Doctor has materialised on Planet Diversity, orbiting in the Virtue Signal System, circa 2026. Female Dr, probably lesbian to boot, going by the Pride rainbow t-shirt on the latest promotional picture.

I was there mate. The vast majority if not all the celebs were charging for photos (and autographs). That's what Showmaster's events are all about.

The white laminate to the left of Baker and Capaldi says as much. There were loads of these things saying "No Posed Photographs" all round the signing areas. The word "posed" had been blanked out on most. The Baker and Capaldi shot is illicitly taken from someone in a queue.

The going rate for pics with the lesser names was £20 to pose.

Capaldi, along with the other docs and most of the big names, had a ticketing number system for his buyers (like at the butchers!Tongue ). Purchasers went to the lines in bunches according to their numbers. Non-buyers could get no closer than the desks organising these lines srveral feet back. Doc 12's desk was near an exit for a quick getaway and all approach to that exit was blocked by a long rope. Many people gathered there hoping for a good view but an organiser had been posted to stand right in the way with a big fuck off Dylan-esque white card with, again, a handwritten "No Photos" on it. He moved about and waved his card when anyone dared take out their phones out.

Showmaster events are a money pit all about the merch with only very few panels (some of which are also pay only) but they are quite open about the commercialism. You takes your choice.
