Damn I'm so fucking hacked off Capaldi is leaving annoyed

Finally got around to watching the rest of Class. Bit of a slow start but the finale was very good with a couple of twists at the end, setting it up for another series.

They really need to let Quill ("I am War itself" Rolleyes ) off the leash a bit more though. She no sooner gets rid of the thing in her head that stops her from killing (another good episode) then they make her pregnant ffs bladewave
If only she'd stuck to shagging androids Wink
Mate, it got cancelled.
Class has something in common with the Babeshows you know... No honestly. Wink

They both appear to be something they are not and for them therefore any success must be achieved in spite of that perception.

Class appears to be a kids show but isn't, the Babeshows appear to be primarily visual-focused adult material but aren't. They both sit uncomfortably attempting to obtain a proper mainstream awareness that is perhaps prevented to them as a result of their respective formulas.

Both, I suspect, would require outside intervention in order to become more than they are atm. (Officially, the cancellation is not a done deal, doddle.)

Typical Sad Just when it was starting to get good Rolleyes

Maybe they could give Quill her own series. I can just picture her as some sort of intergalactic bounty hunter in a PVC catsuit, with that gun strapped to her thigh... Tongue
'Bill Potts, the newest crew member aboard the TARDIS, will be the first openly gay character to travel regularly with the Doctor since the show started in 1963'.

Because it's not like homosexuality hasn't been rammed down peoples throats since Russels days.
I've enjoyed Peter Capaldi's doctor over the last couple of years. It's been a darker, edgier and more serious personality and his take on the role was a welcome change from Matt Smith's era. Smith's stories were too childish at times for me and clearly aimed at a much younger audience. Capaldi had made it enjoyable for an adult audience again too, and showed he could still make it appealing for children without the stupid OTT comedy. I thought Capaldi gave us a good throwback to the classic days when Jon Pertwee was the doctor - and it's a shame he's now giving it up after a few years.

They must have already cast the next actor, or at least have someone firmly in mind. They'll need to work quick if they haven't quite sewn a deal up yet. I'm open to the possibility of a change of gender or a change of ethnicity. If the actor or actress is a good one and willing to stick around for more than just one or two years, then there's no reason not to change the show's direction. Someone who has experience in a variety of roles preferably on screen and stage.

If the next doctor is male, Kris Marshall might be an ok choice. I've got a few others in mind for the role - Idris Elba or Tom Hiddlestone. If it's a woman I'd prefer it not to be Tilda Swinton. Anna Chancellor, Olivia Coleman, Ruth Wilson or Helena Bonham-Carter spring to mind instead. The problem is of all those names I'd prefer, they are all usually high in demand with numerous TV, theatre or film roles and it would be difficult to tie them down to a commitment for a few Doctor Who seasons.
