Mark Williams through to the final after a 6-1 win against Hossein Vafaei.
Williams will face Mark Selby after the Jester from Leicester beat Kyren Wilson 6-4.
Been an intriguing tournament, especially towards the end. Almost any of the quarter-finalists would have made a great story if they had won (even Maguire, who otherwise seems to have peaked long ago).

Williams needs to win to edge out Ryan Day from the main Crucible draw, or else it's 3 rounds of qualifying. Selby is surely in good enough form ahead of Sheffield not to need this win, but that's not the winner's way, is it?
Selby appears to be getting his game into just the right shape at just the right time. He is a master of the longer format matches the World Championship provides even with his B game. But if he is getting his A game into play too the rest of the players should be very concerned with the Crucible just around the corner.
I was thinking yesterday that I seem to have watched more tournament Snooker in this season than probably ever before, thanks to Eurosport & Quest.
Selby beat Williams in a close fought final 10-8 which means the Welshman has to qualify for the Crucible.

Well done to Selby on his latest success. Bad luck to Williams on presumably reaching 17th, but maybe an extra win or 2 earlier in the season and he wouldn't have needed such a long shot at the last minute, huh? On his current form, he should be a good tip to win through qualifying anyway.
Trouble is there are that many tournaments now that even those players in the qualifiers are match tough. The qualifying rounds are a minefield. Williams will not find it easy.
There are a lot of good players with matches behind them now to fall back on. Just the qualifiers alone could have plenty of drama.
