You knew when it was there that he was going to do what he did, and Neal would go "oh, Judd!
" (not that he exactly did, but you know)
Neil Robertson beat Mark Allen 10-6 in the other semi final.
Robertson started very slow, but once he knocked in a couple of centuries, and got Hendry all-but-fapping on commentary, then he never really looked back.
Ronnie leads 5-3 after the opening session of the best of 25 frame final.
The final two sessions take place tomorrow.
Robertson had the reverse of his start against Allen, and will need a good 2nd session to stand much chance tonight.
Ronnie O'Sullivan held off a determined Robertson to ultimately prevail 13-11 and in so doing return to number one in the world rankings.
Finally, a number one who is actually a winner. Selby has been number one for an eternity, but has won fuck all over the last eighteen months.
Credit to Robertson too, he made a great fight of it, and if he keeps that form up, should do well in the rest of 2019.
The last ranking event before the World Championship is the prestigious China Open that starts next week.
