Ronnie finds himself in a pretty desperate situation despite winning according to these reports. Looks like he will continue playing (good news for fans anyway as he's easily the most naturally talented snooker player around today) as he's not in a financial position to not play:-

I liked the line Ronnie used when he was interviewed by Hazel Irvin when he described himself as being up & down like a whore's drawers.

As well as Barry played in the final and he did play some great stuff at times, I would contend that John Higgins pushed Ronnie closer for his first world title.

I respect your opinion and its a marginal call I suppose.
Higgins lost 18-14 while Hawkins has lost 18-12 so in terms of the scoreline you have a point.
But I would venture to suggest that Hawkins played better than Higgins and that Ronnie played better over this 2013 final than against Higgins because he had to.
But thats only my personal view Smile.
Take it no-one else saw the Legends Cup on Eurosport 2 over the weekend? GB & NI vs Rest of the World (i.e. Ronnie, Jimmy White, Steve Davis & Dennis Taylor versus Stephen Hendry, Cliff Thorburn, Neil Robertson & Tony Drago). Live commentary from John Virgo (who else, eh?)

Some good laughs, some great shots Big Grin

No I missed it Sad.
Ali Carter has been diagnosed with cancer, and is having treatment. On the Yahoo newspage I read, one of the comments read "RIP" etc which is a bit premature!
As a lifelong fan of Steve Davis I am so delighted that he has, tonight been crowned World Seniors Snooker Champion 2013 Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin.
Victories over Dennis Taylor 2-0, Tony Chappel 2-1, Dave Harold 2-1 and defending champion Nigel Bond 2-1 sealed a famous victory Big Grin.
He played some good snooker to win the event. Rolling back the years to claim a seventh World Title Big Grin.
Well done Steve Big Grin.
ITV4 are showing a 'Champion of Champions' tournament this week from sunny Coventry. Selby beat Maguire in a decent match last night. Neal Foulds and Alan MacManus are providing punditry.
