Yu Delu nearly got the better of Neil Robertson in the China Open, too.
Steve Davis lost his qualifying match for the World Championship, and falls out of the top 64 for the first time since 1978 apparently Sad
Did not help his top 64 chances by missing the UK Championship and heading out to Australia to do I'm a Celebrity.
Costly decision and defeat.
It is very sad as a Davis fan for all these years Sad.
No Graeme Dott, Mark Williams or Matthew Stevens at The Crucible after they lost to Kyren Wilson 10-7, Alan McManus 10-8 & Tom Ford 10-8 in final qualifying round respectively. No Jimmy White or Steve Davis either as they lost in previous qualifying round. Ken Docherty will be there after winning against Poomjaeng 10-5.

Davis felt he was good enough to stay in the top 64 and would get the results he needed to do so, even though he was as low as 59th when he chose to miss the UK Championship. In the latest rankings he's 71st.

Peter Ebdon another player who has failed to qualify for World Championship losing in final qualifying to Robin Hull 10-8

Steve Davis will have to attend qualifying school after his defeat in World Qualifying lost him his tour card
No matches really jump out of the First Round draw, unfortunately. Too many dull as dishwater players nowadays in snooker. Zero personality. I'm hoping for a Mark Allen win, unlikely given his form, plus, he'd likely have to face Neil Robertson in Round 2. Please God, anyone but Shaun Murphy though !
