He lost too! Tongue But well done all the same. Especially after the smug BBC hype last week about who would get it.
German Masters started today, coverage on Eurosport.
Today's final sees Kyren Wilson, who beat Stephen Maguire 6-1 last night, face David Gilbert, who beat Duane Jones 6-1 in the afternoon to reach a 3rd ever ranking final, and thus a 3rd attempt to actually win his 1st. With the World Open and that 147, Gilbert is in the season of his life, although amusingly in his Eurosport interview after beating Jones, he was more concerned about getting that 1st title win, than the many secondary benefits (qualifying for the Masters, the Champion of Champions, etc).
Wilson led 4-1, but Gilbert rallied to lead 7-5 at the final MSI. But Wilson stormed back to win 9-7 Smile
Players Championship starts tomorrow in - YES! - Preston, and also on ITV4.
Matthew Selt beat Lyu Haotian in yesterday's final of the Indian Open 5-3 to win his 1st ranking title.
Players Championship largely going to form (most overtly with Judd Trump thumping Jimmy Robertson). Only Kyren Wilson losing to Jack Lisowski might be thought a shock (besides Ronnie's latest attention-grabbing stunt).
Good win for John Higgins 6-4 over Mark Selby while Judd Trump recovered from 2-5 down to beat Jack Lisowski 6-5.
On Thursday Neil Robertson beat Mark Williams 6-4 while Mark Allen prevailed against Stuart Bingham by the same scoreline.
Ronnie O'Sullivan beat John Higgins 6-4 to set up a semi final against Mark Allen. Neil Robertson through to the final after defeating Judd Trump 6-4 in the evening session.
