I would have like to have seen the 1982 semi final between Alex Higgins and Jimmy White as well as the Peter Ebdon v Stephen Hendry final from 2002 included but at least there will be snooker to watch for 17 days.

I was going to mention the Higgins-White match, but then I thought someone will say it was a different tournament.

Putting any Bingham match on last is a schoolboy error. I'd as soon see any Tony Drago or Alain Robidoux match than anything with Bingham, Hunter, Stevens, Hawkins, etc

Would have liked to see the 2014 final between Selby and O'Sullivan on the list, under the circumstances it was probably the best come back I've seen, for Selby to be 8-3 and 10-5 down against Ronnie in a world championship final, to win 6 frames in a row too, it was very impressive. Great game.

I saw some re-runs yesterday and objected to the cigarette advertising.
Why can't they blur it out.

Higgins and Reardon were busy smokers, you'd have some major pixellation needed there

I watched the Davis v Knowles match yesterday and kept thinking 'How is this a Crucible classic?'.
It was an awful standard even from Knowles who won 10-1!!
Not competitive, not close and not good to watch

Did see some of the Higgins-Reardon thing. You realise how much standards have changed with the growth of the industry. Higgins did an amusing thing where he played the final pink & black even though he was about 30 points behind. He got the pink but no position on the black. Played a outrageous attempt up toward the yellow pocket, and fluked it down in the opposite diagonal pocket!

I think the thing with Alex Higgins was thst if he was in a position like he was with that pink he would try the most impossible shot and I think about 85-95% of the time it came off, but he was a tough player and I think it would have been a shame if one of the sports' most brilliant talents at that time, never won a world title,

I def agree standards have changed in the last 30 years. Ronnie O'Sullivan is probably the closest player today to Higgins' genius we have now and I think the sport is devoid of the sort of characters that were around and thst is a shame, but would agree people who weren't born 30 years ago and now watching all those classic games probably would be shocked to see how they could get away with playing snooker & smoking inside the Crucible!!

First time I ever got hooked on the Snooker was when Terry Higgins was playing. I think he probably was the first player of the modern era (!) game to win the world title at the first attempt and he did come through the qualifiers as well. You probably would be just as surprised with Bill Werberniuk having to drink - what was it - 16 pints of lager a match??? Great characters then. I know Cliff Thorburn was the first player overseas to win the title and still remember that they cut coverage for several minutes for the Iranian Embassy siege!! but he looked so bloody cool when he did that final black for the 147 and I still remember Clive Everton's last comment before he potted it "Good luck mate.."

I think you mean Terry Griffiths not Terry Higgins

And the commentator on the 147 was Jack Karnehm.

I was gonna say, Terry Higgins must have kept quiet
