I highly recommend the blu ray Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Best of Both Worlds, this features the two part ep part to together in one special movie i've always been a massive Star Trek fan for me this was up there as one best two parters/Cliffhangers ever seen on television history The Best of Both of Worlds could have very easily been put on the big screen and the story still would have been great.
You get a special case for the blu ray it comes with a slip case with Picard on the front where his dressed up like a borg you then peel back half the casing showing a normal Picard and inside a picture of Riker and Data, you also get a plastic sleeve to cover over the whole blu ray protecting the slip case from getting damaged.
Now down to the picture quality as with the first couple Next Generation blu ray boxsets its been given a total make over. Its totally been remastered and given a 1080p transfer from the original negatives, everything now is looking so highly detailed and the colours look so much brighter and rich especially on the star fleet uniforms overall a massive improvement over the dvd version, also in places the special effects have been redone in most places.
Along with the picture the sound has been remastered too giving you a 5.1/DTS output again very impressive.
There's a couple extras but not a lot, over all if your a big Star Trek its well worth having this in your collection and especially as places like Sainsburys are selling it quite cheap or you get the same Ep's by buying season 3 of Next Generation on blu ray.
this has been on my to get list for a while as the best of both worlds is probably my fav star trek episode ever of all the star trek tv series, even more so now after reading your review. hopefully get it myself this weekend
Forgot to say that the picture ratio of The Best of Both World's isn't full screen is in a 4:3 ratio as thats how the shows were filmed back in the day you can watch it in full screen by going into Tv settings and changing it but the image will be squashed.
Those of you interested in building your Blu ray collection, there is an excellent offer on at blockbuster video, you can get 50% off if you buy 5 films or more. This applies to both new and pre-owned blu rays, there are a few new titles unavailable but most are. I picked up Dark Shadows, Killer joe, Columbiana, Lincoln lawyer and The Woman in Black for £21.50.

A great deal.
Sainsburys online are doing some good deals where you can get two blu rays for a tenner so i ordered Pulp Fiction and ET not sure if the stores are doing the same deals as my local one wasn't.
Star Trek The Next Generation : The Best Of Both Worlds. finally got this and it doesn't disappoint. I really like the slip case where you have picard as a borg which you can peel off to reveal picard in his Starfleet uniform along with riker and dara, the enterprise D in battle with the borg cube and a borg drone. as for the episode itself. like how they've don't it as one feature length episode instead of showing it as part one and part 2 and the sound and picture quality is top notch. the extras are also good as you get a commentary, a half hour documentary about the episode with interviews with the TNG cast and celebrities like seth McFarlane

also recommend The Lord Of the Rings Trilogy: extended limited editon bluray. it's a massive 15 disc set presented in a nice designed case with a map of middle earth on it with each film in the lord of the rings trilogy getting 5 discs. the first 2 discs are the extended edition of the film in fantastic picure quality with fantastic sound with a commentary for each part. the next 3 discs for each film are crammed full of extras for each film in the trilogy. another reason is the price, I got it for just £24.99 at hmv (and that was in the shop and not online)

Kalel76 already gave a detailed review of the Star trek bluray a couple of days ago. The LOTR trilogy is a good price but not sure I could sit through an extended version. The originals were 3 to 4 hours each. You'll have a beard by the time you have watched one of the extended versions.Smile

Also i've been reading that there gonna be doing another Star Trek: Next Generation blu ray movie and that it will be the two parter "Redemption, this was about Worf's attempt to clear his family of dishonor, and a conflict between Gowron and the Duras sisters for leadership in the Klingon High Council. I have a feeling they will be releasing a lot more Next Gen two parter's as single blu ray movie's an maybe even with the other Star Trek spin offs where they had two parters too. No news on when Star Trek: The Next Generation: Redemption will be out to buy, if i found any more news will post and put up the pre rode link.

Got a few blu ray's to recommend but am only gonna do a few at a time, the first one blu ray i highly recommend is Django Unchained not only is it a great film but has a great cast to match. Now there is a steel book version you can pick up from most sites for around £17.99 and for the standard edition Sainsburys are selling it for £13.99 now be warned for the film is very violent and a strong use of N word thought out the film it didn't bother me so much for reasons why some people on the forum will know why secondly thats how it back in those days probably if not worse.
The picture quality on this film is superb as always a 1080p transfer, the film is crystal clear and the images are rich and highly detailed even when theres fast paced action. The sound quality is stunning every word is crystal clear and the sound track is simply stunning and when you have this hooked up to home cinema system the sound is awesome.
As for extras there's a good few here plus you get a UV copy of the film, if your Quentin Tarantino then its a simply most have to have your collection.
The second blu ray that i highly recommend is the classic film Pulp Fiction and i have to say this is one of the most impressive blu ray's especially from a film of this age.
The Picture quality as always with blu rays is a 1080p transfer Tarantino himself over so the transfer and its perfect, even if you have this film on dvd i highly recommend the upgrade from dvd to blu ray. The image's are sharp and rich and the colours deep and riches when you Sam L Jackson and John Travolta in there black suits they look jet black the transfer is stunning. Its so detailed on blu ray you can see every bead of sweat and winkles.
As for the sound quality its just as impressive as the picture quality, everything sounds perfect and sound track sounds so sweet you'll really benefit from having this hooked up to a home cinema system.
As for the extras theres bloody tons on here am very impressed, again if your a big fan of this classic film and even if you have this on dvd i really really highly recommend you pick this up.
