I already said that and simply thanks on the posts would have just done, Just glad that Indiana jones and Temple of Doom is being released uncut for the first time in 28 years now that i am looking forward to seeing. Smile.
same here, my next bluray will be prometheus on the 8th of october, which unlike the avengers assemble release will have a digital copy with it
More news on the altered scene on Avengers and i nearly pissed myself laughing Disney UK have claimed that they didn't censor the blu ray version of film as it was like that in the cinema release, this has to be the biggest load of old bollocks i have every heard in my life i like many other others so the particular scene which was changed on the blu ray release, Sorry but Disney have really gone down in book am ashamed to say and they said they have no plans to release another one.

yeah saw that just now and cant believe what disney uk are saying. the coulson death scene was censored, remember seeing it in at the cinema and the blade could be scene sticking through coulson's chest. completely stupid to say as well that its ok to get the us release imported

also it contradicts what the bbfc say in their advice to parents about avengers assemble in which they mention the spear scene with the spear visible through coulson's chest saying it serves an important narrative purpose

Disney have bought it upon themselves because your not supposed to hand in the uncut version of the film to the BBFC then alter it when you actually release upon with out telling the BBFC as its actually illegally and a breach of there rules. Its bad enough as it is that Disney did a bad job of the blu ray compared to the american version but alter the film as well they deserve everything the stick there getting.
bbfc have just released this statement about it and it shoots down what disney said yesterday when they said the spear tip was removed from the uk cinema version

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/newsreleases/2012/...vdblu-ray/

so if ive read that correctly what the bbfc have just said. it was what i said earlier, that the change in certificate from 12A at the cinema to 12 for the dvd & blu-ray release was the reason for the spear tip being digitally removed. disney submitted a version of the film that would get a 12 certificate for dvd & bluray

even so disney have embarrased themselves even more now after saying yesterday the spear tip was removed from uk cinema version when it wasnt
It couldn't have been the reason because theres no such thing of a 12A rated dvd or blu ray, Disney never submitted the edited version of the other wise they wouldn't be in trouble as i said in my previous post its because they gave the BBFC the uncut version but realised the edited version with out telling them hence why there in trouble. What can happen with a film which is rated 12A in the cinema is it can released as either 12, or it can be released as 15 if they see fit if its that bad as i've asked about that in the past.
Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies for example came out as 12 rating in cinema and dvd but then newer versions were released with a 15 rating, the difference being that BBFC saw and asked them to cut the film at the time were The Avengers they never had a problem with it but Disney changed it anyway with telling them.
have to see what happens. the bbfc statement doesnt suggest any further action will be taken though from them. does seem odd that under 12's could see the film with the spear tip still visible yet over 12's getting the dvd or bluray cant see the spear tip.

im more dissapointed though about the lack of extras, no commentary and no digital copy that the us version is getting. disney though come out of this looking very bad
The difference is that a 12A rating film can be seen someone under age of 12 but they have to be with a adult, the only people that change a rating of a film is either the BBFC if the ask the film company to change it or the company wants it to be seen by a wider audience so they cut the film themselves but either why they have to submit the film to BBFC for there approval, but gotta be fair to the BBFC over the years they have relaxed there rules compared to how they were ten years i used to speak to them a lot about there cutting and rating of films and they were always kind of enough to explain themselves. A lot of the 18 rated films that were cut on dvd are now being released in there uncut form when there being processed for blu ray format.
my final comment on this avengers assemble bluray is that i still think disney/marvel will release a bluray version loaded with extras and maybe a directors cut and it will come out when either iron man 3 or thor 2 comes out next year
