I would highly recommend the Spiderman Trilogy on blu ray, the one i picked up was the re issue to tie in with the upcoming release The Amazing Spiderman. When it was first released as blu ray box set it was was a 4 disc were as the new one is now a three disc. Spiderman 1 and 2 came with one disc each and Spiderman 3 was a two disc now its a one disc more on that later. The First Spiderman film transfer wise to blu ray is pretty good its a lot better then the dvd picture but its kinda showing its age now where parts of the film of the look clearer then otherwise but aside from that its pretty good. The sound is really impressive so if you have a 5.1 cinema system then your in for a treat. Spiderman 2 picture quality is much better then first one and is a huge step up from the dvd version, you get to cuts of the film the cinema version and extended version of the film the sound like the first one is very impressive and was my fav Spiderman film. Spiderman 3 even tho i know is hated by many people has the best picture quality and sound of all the spiderman films, the picture quality is crystal clear and sound is probably the best of all three films.
Now when it comes to extras the Spiderman 1 and 2 has a load of extras where as Spiderman 3 has very little, when the Spiderman trilogy was first released on blu ray the first two films never had any extras but the Spiderman 3 came with two discs and had a ton of extras hence the box set was a 4 disc. If your not bothered by Spiderman 3 having less extras on the re issue then its still worth picking up. One difference with the U.K blu ray box set and the one in the States is there one comes with a digital copy of each film and you get money off to see The Amazing Spiderman. Aside from that its well worth picking this up if your a spiderman fan and also wanting to upgrade from the dvd version.
I would highly recommend The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn, always been a big fan of tintin ever since i was kid, pretty read all the books of his adventures and even bought the dvd box set of all his adventures too. First of all the picture quality is crystal clear not a grain in sight in the picture and images moving around not surprising as the special effects were done by WETA who did the Lord of The Rings films and this film was part written By Steven Moffat he of the Doctor Who series. The sound is great matching the high quality picture and made even better as the music was done by John Williams (Superman, Star Wars, Jaws,Indiana Jones the list goes on lol) hearing this on 5.1 cinema system really brings out the best of the film. Theres a good few extras on this and as its a triple you get the blu ray, dvd and digital copy of the film. for a couple extra you can get the 3D version of the blu ray but you lose the dvd version of the film. All in all if your a big Tintin fan or animation fan its well worth picking up as around the net its about a tenner now. Can't wait for the next one if there is one so heres hoping Smile.
I would highly recommend the film Predator on blu ray now the i picked up was the steel book edition from play.com for only a tenner. You know the plot of the film Arnie and co kicking ass, lots of violent action and of course the one liners lol. Now the picture quality is a lot better then dvd version am not sure if many people know but this is the second time its been released on blu ray as the transfer wasn't great and released again under the title Predator: Ultimate Edition, in most places the picture quality is pretty clear but there are places were the picture quality is a bit too smooth. Now the sound is really good crystal clear sound and you really benefit from having this hooked up to a 5.1/DTS cinema system especially in the jungle scenes and of course Arnie blowing up stuff. There's a decent set of extras and with the steel book edition you of course get the blu ray and dvd version of the film and the extra bonus is you get it in a well packaged steel book and as i said only a tenner from play.com, well worth picking up if your either a steel book fan or a Arnie fan. In the words of Dutch aka Arnie "Stick Around" lol.
I highly recommend the blu ray film 21 Jump Street, now i haven't and never watched the old tv series of it so didn't know what to expect but the film was as funny as fuck when i saw this at the cinema everyone was laughing there heads off. When i first heard they were making a film of a tv series at first i thought its not gonna work but i was wrong. The picture quality holds up well on blu ray the images a crystal clear no grain in sight which sometimes you do get with some films, all the images are well detailed and colours on the images are deep and rich in colour. The sound is crystal clear you hear every sound and the soundtracks played out through really work especially when you have a 5.1 cinema system. The extras are not bad too theres a good few extras to watch, plus you get a ultraviolet copy of the film, not really keen on ultraviolet copies of films as they don't work on iTunes long story there. Its simply most to pick up this blu ray make it a part of your collection you won't be sorry Smile.
