I highly recommend the blu ray Skyfall, the one i picked was Amazon steel book exclusive. The art work on the front and back are simply beautiful with Bond at the front and the classic Aston Martin at the back. The inside art work is great too with the four actors from the film, it would have been nice to have M including in the art but impressive looking all the same.
The Picture quality is stunning and for me one the best transfers i have seen on a film, its helps that it was filmed with a digital camera and its shows too with not a grain in sight i would go as far as to say its pretty much perfect, a full 1080p transfer, the images are so detailed that you can see sweat and wrinkles on the actors face its that good. dark colours look deep and rich and colours like reds and oranges look warm and deep if had to give the transfer a mark out of ten it would get a ten for me.
As for sound equally as impressive as picture quality, a full 5.1.DTS audio transfer and this film was born to be played on a home cinema system, every thing from speech, back ground noise, the sound track and explosions are really heard in great detail again would pretty much get a ten for me here.
Theres a load of extras here with loads of featurettes including a digital copy of the film and a extra disc for the dvd version of the film and for once the digital copy works on iTunes.
If you have the Bond blu ray box set theres space for you to place the Skyfall blu ray, they really put a lot of effort with this blu ray, its just shame they never did that with Quantum of Solace but they also made the effort with the second blu ray version of Casino Royale (Deluxe Edition).
As a big Bond fan it was one of my films of the year last year and its already one of blu rays of year, you would made not to have it in your collection
