This isn't a 100% yet but i've hearing that we might get short changed on The Avengers blu ray, now over in the states there getting different combos of blu ray so might have the film, digital copy and dvd and the combo foe example the 2D/3D version of the film with the dvd and digital copy. By the looks of things were just getting the 2D version with dvd or surprising no digital copy and the other combo just the 2D/3D version of the film and no digital copy, this maybe because its Disney thats doing the blu ray not Paramount. Paramount did the Thor, Captain America and Iron Man 2 blu rays all these were triple plays and came with a dvd and digital copy of each film except for of course Iron Man 1, if this is true then its a real shame as it would have been at least nice to have a digital copy of the Avengers. Now this could all well change and am hoping it does but if not am still picking up it up, thank god were still getting the same extra's as the one in the states. I managed to pre-order the HMV steel book version off there site and at the time you could use a code to get it cheaper so instead of paying £16 i pre-ordered it for £12.
I do know Batman dark Knight Rises will probably be a triple play and should be out some time in December if not by the end of the year no set date yet.
That doesn't surprise me that there will probably be no digital copy with the avengers assemble bluray as none of the Disney blurays I have didn't have digital copy with them
I thought i would explain the difference between a digital copy and a ultra violet copy, a digital copy is where you get the code and you either type in the code with the disc inserted in the computer or you just use the code then the digital copy downloads to iTunes which you can then use to watch on your computer, smart phone or iPad. The ultra violet copy is where you enter the code for digital copy but then you need download a app to watch the movie and you can have this app on any device but you have to have a internet connection to access the app to watch the film, personally i prefer having it via iTunes, anyway i hope this helps Smile.
I highly recommend Season 9 of Smallville, i know must people might be put off as his not quite Superman yet but this was the season that introduced Zod or should i say Major Zod this for me was one of fav season's especially as it was a lot darker in tone and Clark was wearing a prototype Superman suit. Now the transfer of picture quality is outstanding seeing as everything is running at 1080p, the special effects are really given there chance to shine here and the sound especially on a 5.1 cinema system, theres a good set of extras and you get a great feature with history of Zod From the comics, the Superman films and of course the Smallville version of him. Over all i would highly recommend this season on blu ray and for a tenner a very good price Big Grin.
I bought the film Lockout on blu ray, am a big fan Guy Pearce, The transfer of the film on blu ray is really good, every always looks crisp and clear and the images always look detailed especially when theres a of fast action going on screen. The sound is really good you get most out of this when its hooked up to home cinema system, these a few extras on the disc would have been nice to have a few more but something is better then nothing. Plus the film is quite cheap to pick too at around £13.97 but i got mine for £3.97, all in all i would highly recommend picking this blu ray up Smile.
Cowboys And Aliens (Triple Play) the picture and sound quality on this disc is fantastic, and its a great way to pass a couple of hours, its a good mix of two great movie genres, with good performances from Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, its well worth a watch.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Fantastic visual quality and a decent way to enjoy two hours.
If anyone is contemplating blu-ray over normal dvd believe me the difference is amazing. The biggest noticeable difference is the sound quality, especially when played through a decent home cinema system. It really is like being at the movies Big Grin
X-Men First Class (Triple Play)
A fantastic film with a great origin story, with fabulous picture quality and sound and a decent set of extras ( i like the Children of the atom doc) make this a essential purchase if you like the X-Men francise. Big Grin
I highly recommend seasons 1 - 6 on Supernatural on blu ray, not only is a great written series but on blu ray it really shines, each of seasons have a great transfer 1080p making each ep looking detailed and crisp with the images on screen, with some of the gory death scenes you really see everything so much detail. The sound on each season is breath taking if you have you blu ray hooked up to a 5.1 cinema system you everything especially in some death scenes where people having something chopped off right down to the sound of the blade or bullets flying around. Supernatural is also known for having great sound tracks in each ep and you aren't left disappointed with the sound being pumped out in 5,1/DTS. As for the extras there great too, i had seasons 1 - 3 on dvd and 4 - 6 on blu ray and i upgraded seasons 1 - 3 not only because the picture and sound quality is so much better but as a bonus you get more extras on the the blu ray versions compared to the dvd counter part. Best of all is the price i've seen each of seasons between £7 and £10, for me highly recommend picking them up at this price.
Play.com for 24 hours are selling Total Recall - triple play blu ray for £9.99 for 24 hours, totally bargain at this price.
