I've been watching the European Cricket Championship matches from Malaga Spain. It's a 10 over competition broadcast on Freesport (channel 922).

England have a team (probably the best of our non professionals) who take on teams from the rest of Europe.

Entertaining apart from the annoying commentators annoyed.
Less than a year to plan for their defense of the ODI World Cup, England play a 3 match series against Australia.

1st ODI - Adelaide - Thurs 17 Nov (03.20 GMT)
2nd ODI - Sydney - Sat 19 Nov (03.20 GMT)
3rd ODI - Melbourne - Tues 22 Nov (03.20 GMT)

Typical Moeen just being honest, but surely you should be able to motivate yourself to play Australia, & he can't make the excuse of being hungover.
The schedule is packed, yet he chooses to play in the IPL & other franchise tournaments, which all adds up to more travelling & living in hotels, away from home.
It seems that his interest in playing Test match Cricket again hasn't transpired into anything, in the summer, there was talk about a tour to Pakistan.
Sensibly Moeen wasn't selected for todays game.
I suppose it's the emotional come down from winning a World Cup.
Had England been knocked out before the final maybe the mindset may have been different.
Bit of the old 'Lets get back on the horse' or 'Got a point to prove' etc etc.

Being the current 50 over and now 20 over World Champions rightly or wrongly may manifest a subsconscious mentality not entirely suitable for any series even one against Australia.
The mind is a fickle beast.
