Lol, he's been batting like he's been holding it from the wrong end most of the season. Important

Unlike the Test Squad, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to openers. Even within the squad, Phil Salt has been very consistent in his few England opportunities, in a format where consistency is tough. He's even opened with Buttler in The Hundred, before Jos got injured. I wouldn't mind seeing Malan move up to open, I like a left/right combo in the top 6 or 7 if possible. Doubt that Bairstow will be moved again, as they like his batting against spin in the middle. Ali, Livy, & Stokes have all opened in white ball cricket, if not for England, but they would be unlikely. Some flexibility in the batting line-up is a good way to go.
Looking to the future, Roy's Surrey teammate, Jacks is knocking on the door, & has made the Pakistan squad, he became the 2nd player to score a century in this years Hundred comp, the first to do so, was Smeed, who didn't make either squad.
England camp news suggests that Bairstow was penciled in the open with Buttler, before the news broke regarding his leg injury which will require an operation, & he will be out of cricket for some time.
Zimbabwe beat Australia in Australia for the first time, with a 3 wicket win. Warner scored 94 out of the 141 runs, the 2nd ODI single player run percentage (66.66). Famously in '84 Viv Richards scored 189 against England out of the 272-9 (69.48%), Maxwell (19) was the only other player to reach double figures.
Leg-spinner Ryan Burl took the last 5 wickets in 18 balls, as Australia crashed from 129-5 in the 27th over.
Zimbabwe had already lost the series, but bounced back well after going 2-0 down in the 2nd, after a heavy 8 wicket defeat, as they were bowled out for just 96.
The MCC World Cricket Committee have made recommendations to the ICC, after a review of the England v New Zealand series. All basic common-sense stuff, most of which should already be happening,
The DRS process to be speeded up, (already happens in the 100) For example with an lbw referral, once the info is available to show the ball is missing the stumps, it is pointless to continue to look for an edge (unless a catch is taken.
An average of 31.5 minutes were lost on each full days play.
They wan he umpires to use the laws for time wasting, with warnings, & penalty runs. (something I've never seen happen, despite the law being in place for some time).
Drinks breaks to be flexible, & used as natural breaks, such as a fall of wicket, if such an event occurs within 15 minutes of a scheduled break, than that becomes the official break.
Unsurprisingly, 20 minutes per day were lost for change of overs. In Test cricket it takes 10-15 seconds longer than in Championship cricket, a full 55 seconds in Test cricket is far too long.
^All sensible stuff as you say Booms! What constitutes time wasting though?? is something that many will have an argument over. One example: A bowler begins his run up to the point of his delivery action; the batsman pulls out?? How will an umpire determine genuine unreadiness from time wasting?? The drinks breaks issue I can go along with! How will they deal with the time honoured tradition of running on with messages disguised as glove changes.
