Moeen Ali smashed 77 off 23 balls in the ABU Dhabi T10 comp, as his side chased a competition best 146 as they got home with 5 balls to spare & all wickets intact. When I say smashed, that's not really Moeen's style he stroked the ball with wonderful timing after a scratchy start when he had some look as he hooked 2 sixes off de Lange's bowling, the first not in complete control, the second a top edge over the keepers head. What followed was sublime batting as he cleared the ropes 9 times, a small ground, but many would've still been maximum's on much smaller grounds. His 50 came up in a competition record best 16 balls, beating the 17 ball 50 from Ingram in the same match.
Phil Salt went one better than Moeen today, with a 15 ball 50. he scored 63 from 20 ball s with 7 sixes & 4 fours.
