dont forget "big" ben ainslie in the sailing 4 olympic golds in 2 different classes stepping up from laser to fin. also sir daley thompson 2 decathlon olympic gold medals, competing in 10 events to get 1 medal, and he could have got 3 in a row if was not for his pole snapping in the pole vault and injuring himself.

probably too close to call even with super slo-mo.

great to see sir redgrave with sir hoy 2 of our finest olympians.

uci are made look like idiots changing the events so that the men and women compete in the same events as eachother and having the nation per event in order top the british. all but 2 events won by the british men and women cyclists. gb track cycling team would be 8th on the medal if they were a country. the rowers would 11th, the athletics would be joint 17th with south africa.

putin will put many rubles into the olympic programme in russia in the run up to the world cup 2018 which they paid blatter and fifa many rubles to have it.
In soviet Russia world cup wins you!! laugh

Sorry Blush
regarding pendleton, for me the right call was made. yes anna mears did use her elbow, but pendleton was just as bad leaning in to anna mears and went out of her lane as well, so balancing things up the right call was made in my opinion. pendleton was beaten fair and square in race 2. overall she cant grumble with a gold and silver from her final olympics.

congratulations to sir chris hoy on becoming britain's greatest olympian with 6 gold medals and 1 silver. not a surprise he went to pieces on the podium at the end. looks like gb have a successor to pendleton with laura trott winning 2 golds in her events

overall a great day for team gb. matching the medal total from bejing and beating the gold medal total too
The guy on RTE said that Britain can dominate Cycling for the next 20 years

The problem was that the silver medallist's back wheel was between them, so the photo couldn't see where the far side rider's front wheel was. They had no choice other than to declare a dead-heat for 3rd.
Congrats to both Laura and Sir Chris, although this evening i'm absolutely gutted for Vicky not getting gold Sad

But a gold and silver medal isn't a bad week or so's work for Vicky, a nice way to bow out Smile
So is that it for tonight as regards medal prospects?
