its always the same every time theres a major event in britain! the world must think that mccartney is the only living british musician weve got!
The ceremony has been a big success. The world loved it judging from all the response I've heard so far. I didn't see much of it, but it must have been brilliant.

You'd have got lousy odds. McCartney confirmed that he was going to be "closing the opening" of the ceremony several weeks ago. Only someone holidaying on Phobos throughout June and July would've been surprised at Macca appearing where and when he did.
Feeling very proud and emotional at how the opening ceremony went. Danny Boyle did a fantastic job, along with all his team and the volunteers.
Even some respect for Lord Coe & his team, for deciding to give the young athletes the job of lighting the flame, and therefore avoided the arguments later about who it should have been had either Sir Steve Redgrave or Daley Thompson had done it alone.
Only two poor spots; one that the Arctic Monkeys played 'bet she looks good on the dance floor' way too fast; and Sir Paul McCartney gave a very second rate performance.... and he's booked to do the same at the closing ceremony???...??? Someone have a word and get Sir Elton or Eric Clapton, or anyone else who can play a half decent tune, appropriate for such an occasion, to save us all from any further national embarrassment..!!!
