Phil Dowd let Chelsea down today by not seeing or ignoring 2 headlocks by Man Utd defenders at the same set piece. Last week Michael Oliver gave Swansea a penalty when Shawcross held Bony in a similar way but Dowd didn't give a penalty for either Rojo’s hold on Terry or Smalling’s hold on Ivanovic. A major disappointment to all neutrals who want to see referees take action against these continual wrestling contests at set pieces.
In the 1-1 draw at Man Utd on Sunday, Cesc Fabregas got his 8th assist in 9 league games for Chelsea.
Cesc Fàbregas is now the first player to reach double figures for assists in the Premier League this season. Gylfi Sigurdsson is the next highest with 7. Fàbregas is also the first player to complete 1,000 passes. His total of 1,031 passes is followed by Yaya Touré with 977.
I think it must a very good time to be a Chelsea fan. I think they are nearly the complete package in premier league terms.
They can grind out 1-0 wins and blitz teams off the park equally well. They can defend and attack with equal aplomb. It's very hard to see beyond them for the title but Man City do seem to be gelling at last. Westham victory over them is looking more and more impressive as the season goes on.
It certainly is a great time to be a Chelsea supporter Smile

Fabregas and Costa were inspired buys, but I think Mourinho's stroke of genius was the Nemanja Matic move. The guy has been a rock in midfield. Makelele-good defensively and even better going forward.

I think my presence on a babeshow board is ample evidence of my staunch heterosexuality. But still. If I was alone with Nemanja and I'd had a glass of wine or two ... if he started caressing me gently ... I'm just CONFUSED, that's all I'm saying!!

He's THAT good!
Ha ha. You are not confused. You are just looking for a bromance. He does like his holding midfielders does Jose
After bigging up Chelsea I sure know how to put the kiss of death on them. Never saw the defeat coming against Newcastle.
I don't think Mourinho even saw it either
Mourinho has never won at St James park in the league and I don't think they've ever played in the PL this season without Matic so it was always going to be interesting to see how they do. Fabregas facing his own goal is quite a liability and Mikel never had the presence of Matic. Maybe he should've played Ramires instead of Fabregas?
Dissapointing as that was, kinda glad we lost. All that bull about going unbeaten (which was NEVER going to happen) was putting unnecessary pressure on us... Mourinho was getting asked about it literally every press conf. as well as the players every interview they done. Now we can concentrate on the only thing that matters... Winning the league! Big Grin
