not every team can win the league, even if all the title challengers beat everybody else and drew with each other one of them still has to finish 3rd, if man utd came in the top 4 this season it would mean either man city, liverpool, chelsea or arsenal would have had to finish 5th and they would be slated for having a bad season, this may be stating the obvious but there has to be failures there isn't room for all of them to be successful, plus i've not even mentioned spurs they want top 4 as well
Mourinho wants a beast of a striker... mmm if only he had a physically imposing striker who had premier league experience and was a proven scorer in that league.... possibly one who had even gone on a pre season tour and scored plenty there... nope cannot think of anyone Tongue

Where should Man Utd be with their attacking talent? Rooney, van Persie, even Welbeck is a regular England starter. Better than 7th place?

Finishing 2nd or 3rd because you lost to the top teams isn't bad (that has happened to United in the past) but beating the top teams and then losing against the lower teams BECAUSE despite spending a fortune you can't score is pathetic.

Liverpool finishing 5th isn't a bad season at all-considering they haven't finished in the top 5 for like the past FOUR seasons! Spurs are spurs, they could spend another 100 million and they still wouldn't make the CL.

United haven't spent as much as Chelsea have in the past few seasons, both Rooney and RVP are in double figures when it comes to goals, can any Chelsea striker say that? Nope. Wellbeck has as many goals as Eto does in the PL, 9. Being a regular starter in the English team as a striker means nothing. Who is he competing against? Andy Carroll? Bent?
Can't believe non of you Chelsea fans have posted that they've just won the FA Youth Cup against Fulham. 5-3 on the night, 7-6 on aggregate
Well done for reminding us, BgLugs. Yes 7-6 on aggregate it was and with a very dramatic finish on the night, as Fulham were 6-4 ahead with time beginning to run out, but Chelsea managed to score 3 times in the last 12 minutes.

Comparison of Chelsea strikers this season:

Minutes per goal
Ba 134
Eto'o 144
Lukaku 174
Torres 372

Minutes per assist
Torres 298
Lukaku 405
Eto'o 649
Ba 668

Pass completion
Eto'o 79%
Lukaku 66%
Torres 65%
Ba 64%

Ariel duels won
Torres 47%
Ba 46%
Lukaku 38%
Eto'o 30%
Torres and Eto'o haven't been THAT bad, doesn't help when you don't start consistently. Still think Torres has a few good seasons left in him.
Eden Hazard, who last week won the PFA Young Player of the Year award, has this week been named as the Chelsea Supporters Player of the Year. The Chelsea Players Player of the Year award went to Cesar Azpilicueta.
