The Spaniard's move is subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical on Saturday.
Fernando Torres took 39 matches to score 4 Premier League goals for Chelsea. Diego Costa has reached that total in only 3 matches.

So glad I have Ivanovic in my fantasy football teams Wink.
Bucketloads of points Big Grin.
Chelsea's last bit of transfer business in this window has seen Marco van Ginkel joining Milan on a season's loan.

Former Chelsea player, assistant manager, manager and Champions League winner Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed as head coach of Schalke, who coincidentally play Chelsea in the Champions League on 25 November. Language will be no barrier, as Robbie speaks fluent German, having been brought up in a German speaking part of Switzerland. As well as the Champions League triumph in 2012, Robbie also won the FA Cup with Chelsea both as a player and as a manager.
Good for Robbie. A classy player and loyal servant. Not the greatest manager (yet), but still ... a Champions League / FA Cup double isn't bad for a mid-season replacement. That Napoli game is still the best night I've had at Stamford Bridge. Good luck to him (except for the return leg against Chelsea!)
Ron Gourlay is leaving the club to "pursue other challenges". He's been with Chelsea for 10 years including 5 as Chief Executive.
