I not saying you are, i am happy he is back too also, im just shocked at some decisions he makes recently, he is still a porto legend though Smile
Chelsea have agreed to Marko Marin joining Seville on a season-long loan. Marin made 16 appearances for Chelsea last season including 11 as substitute. 6 of those were in the Premier League, including 4 as substitute.
Chelsea say goodbye to 4 players whose contracts expire today and are leaving the club, Paulo Ferreira (after 9 years and 217 appearances), Florent Malouda (after 6 years and 229 appearances), Ross Turnbull (after 4 years and 19 appearances) and Yossi Benayoun (after 3 years and 24 appearances).
Chelsea's Brazilian players David Luiz and Oscar are Confederations Cup champions 2013 after a 3-0 win on Sunday night over a Spain side which included Chelsea players Juan Mata, Fernando Torres and Cesar Azpilicueta. As well as being runner up in the competition Torres was also awarded the tournament's golden boot award.
Chelsea players are back at the training ground tomorrow for pre-season. The first team squad is going to be missing 5 players from last season, although only 2 additions have been made so far, Andre Schurrle (age 22) who joined from from Bayer Leverkusen and Marco van Ginkel (age 20) who joined from Vitesse Arnhem.
Chelsea official statement on Wayne Rooney:

"Chelsea can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney. For the avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney, the proposed purchase does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United."
There are 2 more departures to note from last season's Chelsea squad, in addition to the 5 already mentioned. Oriol Romeu who made 9 appearances for Chelsea last season has returned to his home country to join Valencia on a season-long loan and Lucas Piazon who made 3 appearances last season has joined Vitesse Arnhem on a season-long loan, where he will link up with fellow Chelsea youngsters Patrick van Aanholt and Gael Kakuta.
Chelsea go into their first match of the season today having made 3 new signings in the summer, Andre Schurrle, Marco van Ginkel and goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer who was a free agent having left Fulham at the end of last season and didn't cost a fee. But there are also 4 players returning to the club from loans last season, Michael Essien, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Tomas Kalas, making 7 'new' faces in total from last season's squad.
Frank Lampard has played on the opening weekend of the season a record 18 times in the 22 seasons of the Premier League and has scored on the opening weekend of the season 8 times, also a record.
I wonder if signing Rooney will cause communication problems between him and the Special One. I wonder who would be needing a translator first?
