Front Running - Energy Policy
What does the future hold? Stage 5 EVs or something, apparently. But a shed-load of infrastructure will be necessary.
Legends of Tomorrow Ep 4 “A Head of Her Time” Season 5
Clive James - Postcard From Rio
Even in 1988, it was grim. Reputation has not helped the place, and certainly has not helped its people. And as for the goat involved in a pseudo-voodoo ceremony...
The Deuce S3 final ever episode(Sky Atlantic). This series that(that ran for three years) was set in the 1970's and concentrated on the sleazy pornography, prostitiution and degradation in New York City in an area of it called The Deuce. It follows various characters and their lives both in the sex industry and their personal lives. At times it was pretty shocking, the way the pimps treated their girls and how the girls struggled to make ends meet and then the other characters and how they all interracted with each other.
Last night(recorded on SKY+) saw the final series which jumped to the 1980's and the birth of video and home-grown porn which sparked a growing backlash and clampdown against porn as well as the AIDS epidemic among the gay community - to then the second half jumping to 2019 and a main character that survived into older age walking along the street where he had a bar and a club and seeing most of the main cast standing around-most of these were dead so it was their ghosts including his twin brother who had been brutally murdered and the man who had murdered him dead himself. It was quite a series, a lot of swearing, violence and fairly real-looking sex scenes, but one actress, Emily Meade decided to work with a hired 'intimacy co-ordinator' and I noticed on the end credits that two real old time porn stars Annie Sprinkle and Nina Hartley were consultants. Big names in this James Franco(played both brothers Frankie and Vinnie), Maggie Gylenhaal as Eileen Merrell(Candy Renee) and Ralph Macchio(The Karate Kid) James and Maggie were producers on the show.
Searching For Sam - Adrian Dunbar on Samuel Beckett
They were both from Enniskillen, or something. Though the latter spent WW2 in the French Resistance, which Dunbar hasn't done (or has kept quiet). He met Stephen Rea, who did meet Beckett, but is always a joy of sorts.
