Secret Scotland with Susan Calman
Week 5, last one, in the Orkneys
Thousand year old dwellings, ancient crafts, WW2 bridges & churches, and so on.
Quite a decent little series, most of which was in fact surprising after all.
Race Across the World BBC2 Sundays-clever idea, five teams of two(friends or husband & wife or son and father) have to get to Singapore without flying and on £1,329(which is the air fare to said place) given to all the five teams. They have no smartphones or Internet and only have a GPS decice to tell how to get to the checkpoint each time. They can use their money wisely OR use their initiative and get jobs to fund their race. They can rely on strangers to help them out as well. The first team to get to Singapore wins a major prize of £20,000. So far one team a husband and wife had to pull out due to the mother of the wife who was very ill but unfortunately on the end caption had died-terrible thing to happen. They brought in a reserve team, another husband and wife who literally dropped everything and sped towards Milan. The first checkpoint was Delphi, Greece and two teams had no idea where it was! Can't wait to see episode two tomorrow.
