BBC1 tonight. Imagine...Lenny Henry, Young, gifted and black. This was looking back at his early life when his mother Winnie came from Jamaica and brought up him and his siblings in Dudley, West Midlands then his attempt to find himself with comedy which led to a big break on New Faces, amazingly the resident comedian in The Black and White Minstrel Show, then The Fosters, TISWAS, Three of a Kind and The Lenny Henry Show(with characters like Deakus and Delbert Wilkins) to Comic Relief-the early years and stand up. It tells of how he battled against racism and stereotypes.
Star Trek Deep Space Nine Ep 25 “Body Parts” Season 4.
Dr Who.
Not too bad, but could be a whole lot better, they still need to fix things. It is moving in the right direction though.
Dracula.
Decent, reminds me of the old Hammer Horror stuff that pops up now and again. I am worried how they'll end it, time jump...hmm.
Lost in Space (season 2).
Half way through and it's even better than season 1 imo. Some nice twists and turns, plus learning a little more about the robot(s) is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to finishing it over the weekend. For a smart family, they do some dumb shit.
Vicious TV series fanny as hell
Didn't intend to watch Dracula, but as it was written by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffatt and had a line like "I'm undead, I'm not unreasonable!" it was worth watching. Shades of Sherlock in there as well.
^
The last episode was pointless imo, the time jump I was worried about was something to worry about. It was like they rushed to the conclusion (which was just shit), it wasn't as well put together as episodes one and two. A lot of time was wasted on pointless dialogue...so meh! Shame. I liked the two main characters/actors throughout, Dracula and Agatha/Zoe, so no complaints there.
On a happier note, only got two episodes left of season 2 of Lost in Space, great stuff, worth a look if you caught repeats of the old one as a kid. The robot is so much cooler, the Dr Smith character has a different twist to it, and despite them doing some stupid shit (the supposedly smart characters), it's a lot of fun.
Yes not sure why they went to a different time period but a clever twist with Agatha/Zoe and the end was a little anticlimactic. I don't normally watch horror stuff but this was very good and as I said a lot of Sherlock-like stuff in it. I am pretty sure it will get a few awards at the BAFTAs next year.
The Witcher Ep 6 “Rare Species” Season 1.
Friday BBC1 The Goes Wrong Show. This is based on something that was in the West End(The Play that Goes Wrong and The Bank Robbery that goes wrong) and now transferred to television. The idea is that the Play of the Week, put on by a bunch of amateur actors does just that goes wrong in just about everyway you can think of-furniture collapses, scenery falls over, people get hit in the face(slapstick) by things, some things blow up and they forget their lines. It is absolutely brilliant, I mean you can see jokes coming a mile but the physical stuff is just very clever-their recent plays have been a Christmas special and on Friday a play about World War II. Worth checking out on iPlayer if you can.
