The Flash Ep 11 “Seeing Red” Season 5
Brutal start to the Ep and all I can say is it seems after the crossover Elseworlds that a little Oliver or that swap is still in Barry lol.
Haunting of Hill House Series 1 Ep 1 - 10;
Having borrowed my sisters Netflix account & feeling the a kid in sweet shop (I've compiled a list of 20+ boxset-series I need to get through) I put the much hyped Haunting of Hill House series at the top of my list which I managed to binge-watch over 3 days.Having watched all ten episodes if I'm honest I found the series to be a bit of a disappointment & I speak as someone who loves a good supernatural show/film. The premise of the series is quite a simple one which is based of a 1950's novel about the Krain family who after moving into the large creepy Hill House start to suffer from visions & hauntings by the parnormal entities living there.When a traumatic occurrence finally see's the Krain family to finally flee the house vowing never to return.Fast forward 26 years with the 3 children now adults living their own separate lives but are brought together when the very hauntings they suffered as children come back to traumatize them again.Because of how the show has been set it heavily relies on flashbacks to flesh out the story.
Perhaps the much malligned hype,spooky trailers etc around this show had me painting a different picture in my head compared to the real thing but I just found the series very slow & ponderous at times.It is undeniably well shot & well acted with great CGI effects but I found several of the episodes very light on content with the odd scary moment (that wasn't very scary) happening right near the end of the episode in a blink & you'll miss it event.I found that you really had to focus in on what's happening because it relies very heavily of flashbacks.
The Punisher Ep 5 “One-Eyed Jacks” Season 2
Don‘t fuck around with Frank when your surrounded by weights
The Magicians season 4 episode 1
Magnum P.I. Ep 2 “From Head Down” Season 1
Star Trek: Discovery S2 ep2 “New Eden”
The Orville Ep 3 “Home” Season 2
Starts of as typical Ep but then half way through the Ep takes a bit dark twisted Ep and it’s goodbye to one of crew aboard the Orville I didn’t see that coming. It’s gonna be interesting how they replace that character all tho I already know who there replacing them. Interesting note two former Star Trek doctors are this Ep Robert Picardo that played the doctor in Star Trek Voyager and John Billingsley who played doctor Phlox in Star Trek Enterprise are both in the Ep.
Supernatural Ep 11 “Damaged Goods” Season 14
Poor Dean.
DC Titans Series 1 Ep 1-11;
I'm starting to get used to this Netfix lark as I've just binge-watched my way through another Series that if I'm honest I wasn't exactly over-enamored at the prospect beforehand after watching the rather uninspiring trailer with the 'Fuck Batman' slogan last year.But in truth though after watching all 11 episodes I actually found it pleasantly surprising & although it may not have the instant charm compared the likes of The Flash or Arrow it definitely stands it ground & shows potential featuring a group of popular DC characters who haven't got much airtime in other DC shows or films in Robyn,Raven,Starfire,Beast-Boy with a sprinkling of cameos of lesser known characters in Hawk,Dove (played by the lovely Minka Kelly),Robot-Man,Elasta-woman,Wonder Girl etc. The main concept of series sees main character Dick Grayson/Robyn having parted company with Batman after having the mother of bust-ups goes his own way working as a Detective by day & crime fighter Robyn by night.On an attempted abduction case he discovers teenager Rachel Roth who has a demonic alter-ego in Raven that can cause destruction where ever she goes.Add Starfire & Beastboy to the mix to aid the troubled teenager on her uncontrollable powers & help find Rachel's parents she has never known or met who may provide the key to helping the angst teen.
They say a Superhero(es) can often be defined by their arch-enemy/villain (Batman/Joker, Spiderman/Green Goblin, Flash/Reverse Flash etc) & so it was a bit of a shame that any sort of main villain only appeared in the penultimate episode (Ep 10) who just so happens to be Rachel's father a demon called Trigon.If I was being a bit nit-picky I would have liked to have seen certain characters being better fleshed out like explaining how they inherited their powers plus it's a shame that Beast-Boy seems to be restricted as the role of a extra/spectator in between turning only into the occasional tiger (how about other animals in his vast reptoire).But as I say the series does have potential & was better than expected.
Star Trek Discovery Ep 2 “New Eden” Season 2
The Punisher Ep 6 “Nakazat” Season 2
Really enjoying seeing Frank in action and plot with Billy Russo but the plot with the main villain not so much.
