Taskmaster : Champion of Champions, ep 1 of 2.
Not sure this is going to live up to its potential. Might have been funnier if they picked all the people who came last in the previous series to be in it, rather than the winners.
Maybe the second final episode will be better.
Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe good value, but both Noel Fielding and Katherine Ryan leave me kinda cold.
The funniest thing was probably the live-in-the-studio last round, watching it disintegrate into confusion because of an over-complicated and not particularly visual idea (writing down words beginning with same letter; but with only the second longest word winning, the person with the longest word winning a turn and stepping forward, and then repeating until someone had moved forward 3 steps).
It started off chaotically as first the pens turned used out to be permanent marker and could not be rubbed out : Greg Davies to camera : "We're laughing, but someone's going to lose their job for this"; and then was obviously heavily edited as it must have gone on far too long with everybody writing the same length of words as each other unintentionally all the time and stalemating each other.
