Yeah, I've only got access to the stream tonight, and it's a bit blurred. Hope someone is recording Smile
well played elite...better late than never lol

btw are danicas knickers see-through...cant tell to well her as the stream is not as good as sky
Well this may sound like a bit of a daft question, but there's a method in the madness.

How many of you who were having problems tonight, actually log on to Elite's website to watch the stream? And be honest about it.

Don't bother replying to this post with your answer, as that would clog up this thread with unnecessary posts. Just thank this post if you do.

I'm just testing a theory of mine, but if proves to be correct, then I will pass on my findings to Elite & Orca and get them to test it.

Thanks

Ace.
Well, the theory I was working on was this:

Elite have a dedicated server that upstreams the signal to Orca Digital. Orca then provide a dedicated flow player along with the scripts to enable it to stream the 3 channels.

Elite then embed the flow player on their website within the members section, which is on a different server. But we have to log on to that server in order to watch. If other members are also on that server, but not watching the stream, lets say watching or downloading videos or picture sets. Then that is using bandwidth up on that server. So if that server starts getting to many hits, then it's going to affect the flow player.

The stream itself might be fine, but the embedded flow player would struggle and slow down along with the rest of the site.

The same would apply to any other site you watched it on, even this forum. The more hits the forum gets, it's going to affect the embedded flow player, just as it does any embedded video on this forum.

So it's not the bandwidth of the dedicated server that's the problem, it's the bandwidth of the server where the flow player is embedded that's causing the problem.

This is just a theory mind you. It's going to be up to Elite & Orca, if they think it merits looking into it further. But from my point of view as a customer, it all seems to fit, and may be the cause of some of the streams problems. It would also explain why some people don't experience the same problem at the same time, as they maybe watching the stream from another website that isn't experiencing heavy traffic.

All the best

Ace.
Nice theory Ace, but I'm not convinced. The current problems seem to be pretty universal, and have started since Orca added the extra security layer to the stream.
I typically watch the stream from another site, not Elite's, and when there have been issues, I've often tried another site as well as elite themselves, and had the same problems there at that time.

Well I didn't say it was the cause of all the problems, just possibly some of them.

Clearly there's a problem with the new flow player & the security encoding. As the encoding was not supposed to block rtmp recording, but it has. So it's clearly affecting things it wasn't supposed to.

I'm still in discussions with them about those problems. But it's going to be up to them to rectify those issues.
Yes nice try Ace but I am not so sure either. I think they just needed to rewrite/edit the modfied flowplayer secure streaming plugin. I dont think bandwith had anything to do with it. Lets hope its all sorted now.

Am I right in thinking you're watching the stream through a site that shouldnt be broadcasting it?

Nope, as far as I know, they are perfectly legit (livebabeshows), the stream is just the free stream with the minute or so cut-out. The other site I sometimes use is another well known babeshow forum (liveshows-tv) that also carries a legit version of the free stream. I've also used a number of other sites that carry legit versions of the feeds. I use these sites simply because they have all the channels in one place, so it's easy to flick through the channels to see whose on where rather than having to visit each channels website Smile

I've heard mention of these sites carrying the full feeds illegitimately, but I can't say I've ever been bothered enough to go finding them. I have access to babestation on freeview, and until these security changes, I was able to record elites stream if there was something of interest and watch that back later.

EDIT : I should mention that I try to temper my criticism of the stream as it is just the free stream I am watching. You can't really complain too much about something for nothing. However, one of my main reasons for subscribing to the website would be for the webstream, and it seems subscribers have the same problems currently as the free stream, so it puts me off becoming a subscriber at present.

I might just be my computer but the elite stream seems to be jumping about. Was just wondering if it was just me. Smile
