By all means report the issues to Elite on a weekly basis, but I'd rather not have an additional web-stream thread. There's only a couple of pages of posts per week (max), so it wouldn't be hard to collate any issues. And I'd rather not spend additional time splitting the inevitable misplaced 'chat' posts that would be made in a reference only thread, & merging them into this one.
It just me or are the streams locking up really bad at the moment annoyed
They seem to be running fairly good for me. Surprised

I know there having a few technical hitches with the Sky graphics overlay, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the stream.

Typical about Five mins after i posted it sorted itself out bladewave
Hi All,

We are in the process of adding a "report issue" button to the web stream.

We hope that this will enable us to track down exactly what the problems are and when the occur.

Hopefully this will enable us to get things sorted and provide a trouble free service.

Thanks,

Jamie.
I can see that report issue button getting clicked a fair amount. Big Grin Don't abuse it, aceman. Wink
1 thing you could impliment if you havent already jamie, is a ping limit,. if guys are downloading at the same time as there watching there ping will bounce causing server lag the same way it does in online games.
we reduce this by limiting the pings at which the players are able to connect at and every 60 seconds or so there ping is measured, if it goes outside of a set range they are auto dissconnected. 0-200 is very reasonable. this covers most of europe (all of the eu) and the east to middle america,.
if they guys are not downloading at the time the watching the stream, there pings will vary from 15-150 in the uk and eu, but if they download there pings can often double or quadruple. when this happens the packet data gets backlogged or even dropped, cusing the server to stutter, pause or even dissconnect.
the imediate effets of packet mild loss are dropped frames (stutter), severe packet loss (pause due to being close to bandwidth limit, pings bouncing causing server side lag), and dissconnect (bandwidth limit exceeded).
if you can as i said impliment a maxium limit that is read every time sum1 clicks reconnect, if there ping is not stable (withing 20 ping points of there last connection if its a consecutive click) or there ping is genraly to high say over 250-300, then give them a polite message refusing to connect them, this may help others that arnt being selfish and hogging the servers bandwidth.
Thanks Hex!t, So in other words, you want us cappers to get booted off, so we can no longer record the stream, and therefore post our stuff on here.

I just bet that post is going to make you really popular with the cappers on this forum. laugh

I think Hexit means downloading in general, not recording the stream (which shouldn't involved downloading).
if your recording the screen rather than the stream it wont affect the server at all. recording the stream would have limited impact no more than conncting to your browser.
when i say downloading i mean torrents and directdownloads like rapidshare...
each connection will increase your ping by the relivant amount (depending on the distance to the server and quality of line).
the reason your ping bounces when torrenting is that you randomly connect to servers to get p2p/torrent traffic these connections can be anywhere and anydistance from you. often my ping can jump to 1500-3000+ thats quite a bump from 15 at my local game server.
