I would definitely agree with Ace. This morning was just one example. Last month, I was planning on calling Hannah, but when I logged in, none of the channels were showing her, and in fact stream 3 was missing. So I had to type the address manually into the URL bar, and there she was. I got through, told her about the problem and it was resolved in seconds. It should not be up to us to tell them about these things. I wonder how many people went on line this morning and thought that there was no-one on?
The funny thing is, I'm not sure who is actually in control of the webstream services. bladewave Is it Elite who produce & finance them. Or is it Orca who provide the stream service. !!!!!!

As one casing point that I brought up a few months back, and mentioned on the forum. Was getting this forums Elite player updated to include the forth stream. Both myself & Jamie asked Orca to update the player. (I still have Jamie's email) And yet it's never been done. Rolleyes

So your guess is as good as mine as to who's calling the shots with regards the webstream. But from where I'm sitting, it looks like Jamie needs to remind them as to who pays for their service, and tell them to get the job done.

ADDITION: And I see they have just hammered another nail in the webstream coffin, as far as I'm concerned. The damn picture in picture is back. annoyed

The Elite stream requires too much manual work, I like that they have tried to be different to RLC and BS but sometimes simple is better.

Remember Sky channels can reach millions of Sky Customers, but websites can reach tens/hundreds of millions all over the world!

That is correct. But it can also have IP blocks put in place that prevent certain countries from receiving it. Rolleyes I think SexStation use this method to limit the number of countries that can watch their stream. YouTube use it as well. So knowing Orca, I wouldn't mind betting that that's next on the cards Rolleyes
Just caught up on this thread from over a month of comments. Major sympathies to vidmakers for their troubles, I was largely unaware that the encryption problem was getting so much worse annoyed

Also, now we are about 2 months in to the switching problem, what are our impressions of how often it happens nowadays? I think it still happens but get the feeling it is less often (still too often), but I may not be the one to notice.

Well the channel switching seems to have stopped over the past fortnight, however the return of the "Asset box" today (if it can be called that) is more annoying. annoyed
It reappeared for Becky's final session this evening @ 5:20 where it remained for 45 minutes, so, was it successful is the obvious question.
Most definately not...
Hannah was the unfortunate "victim" of it on this occasion & it wasn't until 10 mintes later that she got a call, which lasted for the total of 3 minutes or thereabouts, she then waited a further 20 minutes before recieving another call, which lasted the grand total of 2 minutes...& those calls probably came from someone watching her on her own channel anyway. bladewave

I can partly understand the reasoning behind it being done on the Sky channels as you can't watch more than one channel at any one time, however most viewers I'd imagine, do a fair amount of surfing before settling on the girl of their choice for however long they choose. However on a reminder front, I can see it's use, NOT for 45 minutes though. Huh & perhaps for 5 minutes every half hour would be more beneficial, just as a suggestion. Rolleyes
On the website you (supposedly) know who's on by the thumbs below, if it's updated of course Rolleyes, so the need for it there doesn't really apply, unless you wish to piss us cappers & the vid makers off of course Rolleyes

As an aside to that, Becky waited 20 minutes after starting that session for a call, a 20 minutes that wouldn't of been without a call had the box not been there, as I'd of called her myself. Smile So a further lost call & although I called her later once the box had gone, it's still another call lost, laugh as I generally call her more than once whenever she's on.
I wonder how many other potential callers or regular callers feel the same way about calling when there's the distraction onscreen of something that's there to generate a call & all it does is, stop you from doing so !!!

Anyway, Elite saved me £30 today, thanks very much Wink...I'm off down the pub. Big Grin
They said the asset box was only used last time to tell people where the new channels were. I'm assuming the reason is the same this time, since they have changed channel numbers again.

Personally, I don't see the point in it. As regular customers will already know what the new channels numbers are. And new customers won't have been aware of the old channel numbers to know they have changed. So what's the point.

As for it appearing on the webstream. The reason I got for this last time, was that the encoders for the streams & the OSG are on totally different systems. So they can't intergrate the overlay into OSG system.
Stream 4 being weird Sad
