Was it the passage that is very skinny, where the prostitues hang, and where you pass by The Box and other strip jonts/sex toy shops? I think that's practically a famous location by now! I walked through there 11 years ago for the first time, and was a bit taken back by it, and that was when Soho was more dodgy. It's not as bad now, and many of the underground rip off joints are closed, as you can see when you walk by. That part of Soho isn't my favorite, but there are other streets that are nicer, with some great cafes/restaurants, and some fun clubs for jazz and other types of music. Most of the basic clubs in Soho aren't very good though, other than one or two.
I think you are better off getting a "massage" elsewhere, or by calling for one on the phone.
