My feelings on the use of Superman is that it does detract from things because you know they would have used the character last year if they could. Now they have the confidence and the casting, here he is. At least the actor seems, at first judgement, as suitable as Mel Benoist.
I daresay the arc of Lena Luthor's character will be predictable, though I expected Kara was going to tell Cat she'd been offered a job working at L-Corp.
I did like the stuff from Cat about Kara looking for a new job: "Supergirl is not a hero just because flying is one of her skills!" The whole job skills myth is a pain in the neck.
