Just thought I'd show the flipside of this argument for a change and give an example of ridiculous censorship on other channels.
I've been enjoying the Carry On films ITV3 have been showing over Christmas during the morning and afternoons, and settled down earlier to watch Carry on Again Doctor, only to find they'd removed virtually the whole of the scene where Jim Dale examines Babs Winsdor while she's naked aside from big love hearts covering her vitals.
The mind boggles.
If they'd shown it there would have been riots, the Pound would have collapsed against the Vietnamese Dong and most importantly some poor child was saved from.....cue drumroll.....some minor nudity. Phew that was close.

Just watched 10 minutes of a programme last night called "What happens in sunny beach". Not my sort of thing but caught 10 minutes whilst flicking through the channels. I cannot understand why male genitals are acceptable for the viewing audience but female genitals are not. In the 10 minutes I was watching the programme I saw 4+ different penises and pairs of testicles, graphic full frontal shots, zoomed in full frontal shots, bent over shots from behind, low camera angles looking up at both the front and behind (some whilst graphically bent over), touching of the penis and testicles, graphic games ("swinging/rotating" of the penis, foreskin forward/back, "tucking" of the penis and testicles between the legs whilst bent over (close-up behind shots). This was in just 10 minutes of viewing. I was quite shocked at the amount of graphic full frontal male nudity, which although labelled as a "documentary" was clearly for "fun". I did feel that the volume and distasteful shots and games crossed the border into being pornographic.
Then something unusual happened. One of the girls in the programme decided to strip fully naked on a stage (along with a man). Normally girls don't do this (particularly on camera) but she was up for some fun like the boys. After taking all her clothes off, her breasts were exposed and filmed but her genitals (labia, pubic area etc) were completely censored, from the front and the back. The camera was positioned so that her vagina would have been seen had it not been completely censored (the shots would not have been anywhere near as graphic as the penis shots moments before) but even still her vagina was completely censored.
Another programme that springs to mind was a horrible programme on dogging which again showed various penises and testicles but censored every vagina. One woman could even be seen "masturbating" another man's flaccid penis (sexual hand contact and stroking). After a 4 or 5 seconds the camera looked away (most probably because of a building erection). I felt both these programmes were for fun/pleasure despite being "documentaries". Even if they truly are documentaries why can't the vagina be shown?
Over the last few years I have noticed this more and more. Penises and testicles can be shown from any angle or distance and whilst performing any sexual games and positions. However the vagina (labia etc) is always censored regardless of how brief the viewing is (let's be honest unless a girl is sat with her legs apart and her labia parted the vagina is never as "in your face"/visible/graphic as the penis is.
All this censorship of the vagina but not the penis gives me the impression that the vulva (labia, clitoris and vagina) is dirty and too vulgar to be seen by humans. I feel very sorry for women, it's a great shame their genitals are labelled as "dirty" and "ugly". Most girls I have been intimate with have felt embarrassed about showing their vagina before/during/after sex. Some girls even dress/undress under the covers. The answer they all seem to give is because they believe their labia looks different to that of normal girls (which is impossible as if everyone is abnormal then who is normal) What is the perception of normal? Unfortunately it is girls in pornographic movies and magazines. This is due to the fact that real everyday female genitalia is not shown on TV. Both TV programmes and Movies use clever viewing angles and even fake pubic hair to cover the labia. In documentaries where that is not possible they simple censor the vagina completely. With girls ashamed of their labia and labiaplasty on the increase what is the solution?
Ofcom's rules? From what I understand an erect penis and penetration of the vagina are against the rules unless the programme is purely medical research. So a flaccid penis and a vagina without penetration may be shown in documentaries, script based TV programmes and movies.
Answer? TV Channels such as Channel 4 are choosing to censor vaginas but not penises in an attempt to avoid upsetting women. Women are generally perceived as being more sensitive to nudity (particularly female genitalia) than men. However by censoring the vagina they are inadvertently feeding women's unhealthy image of their vaginas.
Will this ever change and will the vagina/labia be seen as the equal to the man's penis/testicles? After all it is the equal and they're both genitals that every person on the planet has.
Final note. I understand it is entirely possible the girl in the programme asked for her vagina to be censored. I do feel this is unlikely as her breasts were not censored and she said afterwards that "she didn't care". This is just one case and in other programmes girls have had their vaginas and faces censored despite only being in the background and not part of the documentary itself.
Strange world we live in
It does seem odd, doesn't it, but the censors' logic on this will be that women aren't likely to be sat there getting sexually aroused by these cocks showing their cocks, whereas the same can't really be said when you look at it vice versa.
I can't speak for all men but the girls that I saw on that programme weren't my type of girl.
Besides it was already proven in a documentary that women are just as visual as men and are stimulated by seeing the opposite sexes genitals. I watched a programme on TV that monitored where men and womens' eyes go when they're shown 2 pictures on naked people (1 naked man and 1 naked woman). Both the men and women spent most of their time looking at the opposite sexes genitals. This was recorded by using special glasses that track tiny eye movement.
If you didn't see that programme then surely seeing the girls in "What happens in sunny beach" screaming and staring at the naked mens' penises with grins on their faces from ear to ear is enough to realise that both men and women enjoy seeing the opposite sex naked. Or perhaps the popularity of male strippers at hen parties? Or perhaps just the fact that we have been reproducing for millions of years :/

I should also say that there must be a gay scene of men who are having the time of their lives watching these programmes. If men are these visually sexual animals that censors seem to think they are then how do they see gay men (particularly as the gay scene is much more open and casual than the straight). I do wonder about all this male nudity on TV, teenage boys will be watching plenty of naked men with exposed penises yet they're told they aren't allowed to see a vagina. Can't be healthy for young boys curious about sex and sexuality?
Been fighting for equal genital nudity since 1996 sick to back teeth of graphic prolonged close up shots of penises testicles yet females blurred out..I always put in complaint to Ofcom and which ever channel it is religiously..

Very strange that we live in modern times yet one genders genitals are considered vulgar and un-broadcastable and the other genders genitals aren't. Can't imagine how women must feel having their genitals labeled as "gross" and not fit for TV, yet mens genitals are seen as normal and not upsetting to the public. Must be a smack in the face considering women have pushed for equal rights for so long. Must feel like a step back?
I also find it silly how people can be nude in Trafalgar square and in other public places where all sorts of people are, yet they can't even stand full frontal on TV, even if they aren't acting overly sexual.
