Thats a good point and subject to endless debate here. The general feeling is that Ofcom and the government of the day are pandering to an imaginary moral majority out there.

Is this government better than the one that introduced Ofcom? Lots of debate about that.

Curiously I saw a bit in Saturdays Times, Suxzi Godsons "Sex Counsel" section where an expert agony aunt answers sexual questions. She said "more than 70 percent of men use porn ... even studies of clergy show that well over half have accessed pornography ... at the University of Montreal when Prof Simon Louis Lajeunesse attempted to examine the effects of firsttime porn exposure on men in their twenties he couldnt find a single participant who had not already watched the stuff"

So I think the general feeling here is every so often a good film or documentry comes along that makes you sit up and think, just how the hell is this acceptable yet they can't show half this shit on the babe channels. Easy answer to that one the likes of film4 can justify it as integral to the plot and also they are not subject to the same laws that effect the FTA babe channels which Ofcom classify as teleshopping.

Ofcom are powerless when it comes to dictating to the main stream channels in the same way that they are when it comes to our genre. So long as the likes of film4 stick to the watershed rules Ofcom will have an uphill battle of their hands ever trying to take any action on them.

Overall late night erotica is few and far between these days. Society has changed within the UK. We as a nation have become more prudish. The good old days of Men And Motors and Bravo TV are nothing but a distant memory now, once SKY used to cater for us blokes, not anymore. The whole nation has gone feminist. It's ok to show cocks on telly but not vaginas as one of the posters pointed out a while back by the airing of the daily highlight's of the Big Brother house.

We've had our day in the sun and once we used to bask in the glory of wall to wall entertainment aimed specifically at us blokes but all that's changed. We are now living in a new era. A Conservative Government for a Conservative Britain.
