Lets put this into context. The Benny Hill show was crap hence the reason it got cancelled, it had nothing to do with political correctness. It's ratings slumped. This is the official reason as for its cancellation when it was announced in March 1988.
"...the audiences were going down, the programme was costing a vast amount of money, and he (Hill) was looking a little tired."
It was really only later when political correction might have proven a factor in the refusal for any of the archive channels to show Benny Hill on repeats.
Moving on at the start of this century we seemed to have a vast amount of late night entertainment to choose from, Men and Motors (now defunct) never tried to hide or make any secret of the type of audiences they were honing in and neither were Bravo (now defunct)
Times have changed and moved on, have a look through the SKY EPG on any given night and you'll rarely find anything that comes close to sexy or erotic outside of the 900 section which might explain why they have become such a tired format.
As for Love Thy Neighbour well that was just blatantly racist which came to an abrupt halt at the start of 1976 after a 4 year run. You most definitely will never see that series being repeated seeing as it's breaches just about every single current rule in the broadcasting regulations.
