I don't agree with it, but it's been clear from numerous Ofcom reports that that's the case, so why does this arguement of mainstream nudity keep coming up?

Well I don't agree with this seeing someone present their testicles at the time of night when it was broadcast was fucking double standards, I mean I was eating my tea at the time and I just about threw up when I seen this repulsive site. A Fucking Boil on a testicle, I mean what the fuck put it away and it's also worth pointing out that no prior warning on the context of this programme had been given out before airing. Anyway what the fuck is wrong with the babe channels showing full nudity for sexual stimulation, Isn't that the whole purpose of these channels in the first place and furthermore what the hell is wrong with it. Sex and the right to be sexually stimulated is part of your basic human rights simple as that. It's either one rule for all or it just stinks of double standards. Ofcom should not be the judge, jury and decision maker on what we choose to watch in the privacy of our own homes. Sex is part of the human evolution and this right has to be respected, no questions asked.

I'm not disagreeing, just pointing out their reasoning for it which I can completely understand. Showing some guys boil on his ballsack is exploitative from Channel 4, as most of their programming is, but it's under the guise of a proper show with good reason to be showing disgusting nuts. The babe shows have no other reason behind them than sexual stimulation for the purposes of selling their product. Whether or not that's right or wrong or whatever is completely irrelevant as it's Ofcom's ruling and that's that. It may be shit, but it is the way it is.
well maybe the babe channels should apply to channel 4 ,the whole point is if a woman is exposing any of her sexual parts we wouldnt be normal not to react whether it be in a movie ,documentary or a babeshow ,i dont look at a womans vagina when its being examined to get educated on how the repoductive system works on a documentary if she is attractive and has a nice body im thinking i wanna poke that ! simple as ;D
Remind me, who appoints Channel 4s directors?
The 'context' card is a whole heap of bollocks, and every single broadcaster/film maker/tv exec who plays it knows so! It's the same as the 'art' card - the reason the BBFC passed (and continue to pass) mainstream films featuring hardcore sex scenes.

If a film shown of Film4 or wherever, features hardcore sex, it's there for one purpose and one purpose only - to stimulate the viewer. And yet the Babeshows are not allowed even detailed nudity, let alone hardcore sex??
I expect there will be some complaints to ofcom regarding the new series Camelot which started on ch4 last night.
Only a few minutes after 9pm, there were arses and tits on view, plus simulated shagging.

Yes, and of course Ofcom will do sweet FA.
I know this isn't strictly anything to do with Babeshows, but looking on the flipside of this argument, there are examples of how other channels are prone to self-censoring - to some ridiculous levels. Take GOLD, for instance. I've just watched a recording of an episode of Only Fools and Horses that went out yesterday daytime. In it, there's a scene where Del is talking to Rodney in the flat and behind them, hung on the wall, is a calendar featuring a topless model... and yes, they'd overlayed a little blurred box on her tits. What is fucking wrong with this country!!!?? Did it not occur to the editor assigned to this job how ridiculous and pointless an excercise this was? I mean, for who's benefit was this done? Only Fools and Horses used to go out on prime-time BBC during its original run and no one batted an eyelid at things like this. Why are broadcasters suddnely deciding we all need protecting from such harmless and trivial imagery??? As much as I hate Ofcom, I don't believe for one second that these directions came from them.

well if that was supposed to be aimed at children not looking at it what do you do if they ask you what a plonker is whilst watching del boy ;D
Goog question, shankey. It's absurd.

The absurdity is that the topless calendar is totally justified by context. 3 men living without female company would see nothing wrong with a bit of softcore "artistic" nudity on the wall.

There is a passage in Small Gods by Terry Pratchett where a condemmed man says the real evil of the Chief Inquisitor is not what he does, but that he gets people to do it to themselves. Uncertainty means most broadcasters will self censor, resulting a completely unrealistic broadcasting landscape that does not reflect the vocabulary used by ordinary people or ordinary peoples range of interests, but the fake sanitised act they put on for meeting with their kids head teacher or the vicar.

Remember Pans People? There was always a lively debate the next day about whether their nipples had been on show.

Or Benny Hill and Hills Angels with steamy crotch shots in some of the dance scenes, on prime time family TV at 8pm.

And that topless calendar, illustrative of nieve political incorrectness, is emblematic of The Sun and The Star, popular family newspapers openly read by men and women during the day, not furtive adult reading.

PS. Thanks to the Controller of Channel 4 for "The Sex Researchers" last night, first in the series. Two brief glimpses of pussy, one clear dangly cock, and what looked suspiciously like the base of a penis and balls in a shagging scene at an angle that could only have been consistent with actual penetrative sex. Most of the scenes, including the above, seem to have been purposely filmed reconstructions. How can I get a job in TV? Narrated by Robert Webb.

EDIT: The show included a discussion of Henry Havelock Ellis, who was impotent, married a lesbian, and was had a condition he called "undinism", now known as "urolagnia", with two discreet tame reenactments. So there you have it, discussion and reenactment of golden showers on Channel 4. Knew it was just a matter of time.
yet on embarrassing bodies yet again it showed a woman open legged in front of a quartet of other women with close ups ,the doctor asking we all know where the clitoris is right girls? and what its there for? pleasure, the way this show is going masturbation will be a topic one of the weeks i wait in anticipation lol
