Quote:MICHAEL VAN GERWEN, Peter Wright, Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis all crashed out of the Coral UK Open on the opening day as the 2018 tournament began at the Butlin's Minehead Resort.
The £350,000 tournament has been forced to be held behind closed doors in Minehead with the effects of Storm Emma preventing Butlin's from opening the complex to the general public
I saw about Wright losing to some teenager, still laughing now.

the BDO World Darts Trophy is being shown on Freesports(Ch95 FV, 422 Sky) at 12pm and 7pm, Friday-Sunday
Glenn Durrant won BDO Trophy and Fallin Sherrock won the womens event. The standard was a lot higher than i expected and i look forward to seeing how BDO players do at Grand Slam

seems PDC have guranteed 2 places for female players in an extended 96 player draw in the 2019 World Championship
Seems Freesports is the place for BDO Darts as just discovered the English Open.is on live now
The standard of BDO darts is definitely getting better. The best players are fine players. But, by god, how low-rent and cheap did the event look? About 100 people in attendance, in - what looked like - a tatty little working man's club. I can't help but feel that the best players there are rather gutless for not trying to jump to the PDC. Just for the professionalism aspect alone.
^ they probably think they would get lost in the shuffle. If you look at likes of Steven Bunting who came over after winning ever major title in the BDO, i‘ve barely seen him in PDC, so maybe they believe it is better to be big fish in smaller pond then vice versa

the BDO have announced new rules that will take effect from 1st October.

These will allow PDC players to take part in BDO Competitions and allow BDO players to participate in PDC events and the Qualifying School without sanctions. Previously BDO players faced penalties if they participated in PDC events and any player who made the semi final of the World Championship was obliged to stay in the BDO system.

Female BDO players will also be able to enter PDC World Championship Qualifying as a result of these changes
