Sony Pictures reported this morning that director Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man added an estimated $20.7 million on Friday at the domestic box office which should put it on track to earn in the $60-65 million range for the weekend.
Sony also said that Men in Black 3 has surpassed $600 million worldwide and earned $525,000 yesterday for a North American total of $171.9 million so far.
Variety reports that the planned movie adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game Assassin's Creed is moving forward with Michael Fassbender attached to star in and co-produce the movie.
The casting of supporting roles has reportedly begun for Fox's upcoming sequel The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman. Hiroyuki Sanada (Lost, Rush Hour 3, The Last Samurai) will play Shingen; Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Push, Sinbad of the Seven Seas) is set for Yashida; and newcomers Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima will play Mariko and Yukio, respectively.
Been reading that there's been press screenings of The Dark Knight Rises and from the sounds of things its really that good and actually blows away the first two films and it got a standing ovation, am so pumped this film especially with being a big Batman fan for many years all my life in fact not forgetting Superman too lol.

just seen that news myself. roland emmerich and dean devlin are working together for the first time in years on it. hope it happens as independence day is one of my fav films ever. working on at least 1 sequel for it
Personally i think they should just leave it just at the first one why spoil a good thing.
Men in Black 3 writer Etan Cohen has been tapped to write a draft for Ghostbusters 3, the new film is expected to center on original cast members Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Aykroyd as they pass the torch to a new generation of ghostbusters.
