i can see camerons point a wee bit. if you put melissa mccarthy as wonder woman, would it do anywhere near as well as gal gardot's version? hell no.
^^ that’s kind of common sense because if she cast as Wonder Woman it wouldn’t do very because she looks nothing like comic counter part the same logic could be used if used actress of a different race would people be as accepting of course not because would be comparing it to how she should look? Look at outrage the min there were rumours of a black bond.
Cameron needs to get over when I watched Wonder Woman for me personally it nothing to about her being a female character I just wanted enjoy the movie and be entertained which is what people have forgotten this movies are supposed to be instead people over analyse and fight over totally pointless. What ever happened to simply just enjoying a movie.
^fair enough, mellisa mccarthy was a bad example. so what about kristen wiig instead. could be easily made up to resemble the comic book depiction. she would've bombed because she's not attractive enough, which is the whole point. hardly feminism at it's best is it?

also, i think idris elba would kill it as bond! Smile
I think Cameron is probably raging at Hollywood's general portrayal of women in films compared to the strong females he's written(Sarah Connor)or added to(Ripley).
As regards to Wonder Woman, they probably could have casted a different actor to play her but it may not have worked. Its like when Marlon Brando tried to mess Richard Donner around on Superman : The Movie, saying he wanted Jor-El to be a talking suitcaseBig Laugh they couldn't do it because everyone knew what Jor-El looked like,in this case most people knew or had an idea what Wonder Woman looks like.
Even if you use that actress same point would anyone buy into Wiig being Wonder Woman no one would look at Bond if he was over weight balding actor would people buy into role no they wouldn’t yet there’s no fuss. Read up on history of Wonder Woman people will realise why she looks like that.
About Gal Gadot being attractive when she was first cast there was up roar because her accent, she didn’t have big boobs like the comic version and all tho she bulked up people still gave her shit for being skinny and wanted a female wrestler to play the role as soon as people watched the movie they changed there tune. Yes she’s attractive but what made me believe she right for the role was she embodied the character traits that defined the character from the comics plus I read the Wonder Woman I saw this instantly. The film was good not just because of her but the rest of cast like Chris Pine for example, good special effects, story and sound track and of course directing it could have easily gone wrong it’s making a cake you need the right amount of ingredients to make the perfect cake.
People forget Jason Bourne in the books is different to how he looks on screen or the real life character Tom Cruise is playing in American Made he looks nothing like the real guy but because it’s Cruise it will put bums in seats.
Look at the actors that have played Superman, Chris Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh & now Henry Cavill look different but you but everyone one of them as Superman in how they look. Chris Reeve not only looks like Superman/Clark Kent but it was acting and how he carried the traits of the character he embodied the role he made you believe a man could fly. It’s not just about how they look but whether you buy into them playing the role.
Actress Adrianne Palicki who was I Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D starred in a Wonder Woman tv pilot she’s stunning attractive woman looked the part but acting wise didn’t fit it at all equally people have wanted Megan Fox as Wonder Woman looks attractive but I don’t think she can act or hold a lead role.
Will Cameron be making the same fuss when Marvel release Captain Marvel Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers I doubt he will. As I said people need to stop making a fuss and simply enjoy and be blessed and enriched that we have such a diverse amount movies. They cast actor to play Nightwing in the tv series Titans his good looking no fuss there. Also when they the movie version of Nightwing and Green Lantern aka Hal Jordan there gonna be good looking actors.
neither cameron nor indeed myself is saying she's wrong for that part or that the movie wasn't excellent, because it was. what he is saying, that i agree with is that holding the character up as some feminist icon or great leap forward for women, is wrong.
did a female make a great movie that put the men's previous attempts to shame? yes.
was gal gadot excellent as dianna prince? yes
is wonder woman the next great feminist hope? no imo. the character suffers from the fact that she's got history and was created in a less illuminated time.
if they want a genuine feminist hero to follow, i fear they might have to invent a new, modern one.

imo. Smile
What’s more interesting is if it’s true that Gal Gadot is in Flashpoint she could play the evil version of Wonder Woman now that I would love to see as that version kills people.
Well we’ll see what happens when Captain Marvel is released.
I'm not sure about the casting choice of Captain Marvel, sure, she's an Oscar winner, but I've not seen her in much I like.
I wish they had been open to having a slightly older actress in the role, as Katheryn Winnick apparently was up for it, and she is all kinds of awesome, plays a bad ass viking, is an actual martial artist, I rate her acting...and is stunning Heart. Oh well, hopefully it'll be a success still.

He'd be a better choice than some of the names that were bandied about, as he's a great actor, but I would still like to see somebody like Tom Hardy in the role. In fact, having Tom as Bond, bringing in Idris as a main cast double o (multiple films also, as I'd love him to be involved still), and having a female villain.
