And to your black panther question probably not but im pretty sure more people would have been pissed off if black panther film got announced and they cast a chinese guy in the role than anything to do with the race of perry white...
And if you dont care if they turn black panther chinese then that just makes me think you dont care much about the character of black panther because his whole thing is he is king of wakanda it would be kinda odd to have a chinese guy be king of a country of black people unless they made whole of wakanda chinese and then it would pretty much be a completely different thing might aswell change the name too maybe black tiger...
My point is iconic characters should look like they are meant too
If warner brothers ever cast a non white man as clark kent/superman people will lose their shit because he is an icon for 80 years and its nothing to do with racism as i said when you change the race of some side characters it works most of the time
That thing that came out a few months back about michael b jordon being superman was wb testing the waters for a reaction and it was not a good one because nothing has been said about it for half a year now
Lets take race out of it and say for example the transformers films if you are like me which i think you are in terms of stuff we like i would assume you much like me thought they was terrible and just destroyed the source material and pretty much blew everything up but would you agree the the opening 10 minutes of bumblebee was the best moment of the entire series ? And i say that because they all looked how they are meant too i mean soundwave looked like soundwave and not a silver jet... iconic characters need to look how they are meant to look
Ok before the movies how many even heard of Black Panther, or even Captain Marvel or know there were several versions the most commonly known one was the Black female. Who knew Doctor Strange of Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy or look at Hollywood in the past getting white actors to play Asians or American Indians. Look up the stuff to do with Flash Gordon and the history of Ming.
It’s a simply as this if people don’t like something rather then people complain vote with your wallet and don’t watch it. Bet a million regardless Disney will be making money off Little Mermaid same way as they did with Aladdin.

My view is if you change the source material then you change the character
If a batman movie came out and bruce waybe was black gay man then thats not bruce wayne thats a completely different character
What would it matter for if a character was gay? Iceman was heterosexual character and now his gay. Mr Terrific in Arrow was a straight character but in the show his gay does that change definition of the character?

Again you are talking about lesser known characters it doesnt matter about them you could make iceman and mr terrific whatever you want
But by turning batman gay or changing his race his whole character which has been around for over 80 years would be made void and it might aswell be a completely different character
If you don't get that then this is a pointless conversation
Maybe instead of changing characters races they should just create some new black and asian characters or make movies based on the ones they have already...
