I read yesterday that production starts in July this year with its release in Summer next year. Michael Bay also stated that it is going to be a bit scaled down from previous films with fewer Transformers. They are also going to be changing the look of them slightly too. Bay reportedly wants a darker feel to the plot. Seems a sensible idea if they wish to prolong the franchise and as Kalel76 has previously stated will tie in with Kelsey Grammar and Mark Wahlberg heading the cast list.

That is sad to hear. Besides being responsible for some of my favourite all time movies he was also a major influence on many a great modern director.
