Some news regarding Season 4 according actress Candice Patton the first Ep will six months later and as of the first Ep his still trapped in the speed force also there casting a CGI character.

My theory on season 4 there's gonna be the oblivious flash forward in months after what happened in season 3, some thing will go wrong that Kid Flash can't handle either Team Flash will break Barry out of the speed force or the speed force will let him out and possibly at a price.
Ep 1 Season 4 "The Flash Reborn" will be directed by Glen Winter. The Flash writers who posted the title on twitter and they in trouble over it which resulted in them coming off twitter.

There's a reference to him where Barry's family got the flat tyre they ended up in the city of Masonville which featured in Superman Vol 1 #388 and contained a story regarding Superman and a young boy.
