i thought it was a load of shit. he knows what saving his mother will do. he even let her die before and now all of a sudden he saves her. really poor writing imo.
Just watched the finale of season two,I enjoyed it.Looking forward to season three.
All tho your fully entitled your view on the finale I don't agree that it was because of bad writing there setting up the flashpoint storyline from the comics/graphic novel and animated series. With Barry losing all his blood relatives losing his mum was bad enough but losing his dad after connecting back with him has clearly pushed over the edge so much that he wanted to kill Zoom team flash knew he wasn't thinking clearly and had to lock him away and looking at it now quite rightful so.
From the start of The Flash the writers and fans wanted to see the flashpoint storyline in the show, now after the events of the season 1 finale and season 2 Ep 21 it was harder to use the flashpoint story arc bit with his father dead it's given them the perfect excuse to do it. The speed force also warned him that he would face many more tragedies and any time you do changed to the timeline there's a price to pay.
Now if you've read the flashpoint graphic novel or watched the animated movie you'll know the timeline gets altered but also effects the DC universe and the characters including Batman, Cyborg, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and many more. All tho the timeline gets fixed its not one hundred percent the same again.
My guess for season 3 is Barry will be happy as both of parents will be alive but everything else will be different including his relationships with other friends, because of changes his made time has a way of correcting it self and will end making things worser. Something will happen so bad whatever he thought was a paradise make him realise he can't have that life. His events could effect the DC shows if they have balls to do it.
I for one am looking forward to how different things are gonna be, whether it's the entire season is flashpoint or its for a few Eps it's gonna very interesting. All it maybe silly what his done it's only because his upset and angry and thinking straight in the long term he'll wise up and do the right thing.
the death of his father was the tipping point and was too much for him to take therefore not bad writing has barry would have done something to let the anger out. it would be interesting to see if wally west becomes kid flash. flashpoint storyline for the first half of the season with the fallout in the second half leading to wally west becoming kid flash. the reset will have to be reversed to have a crossover with supergirl has season2 would not have not happened the reverse of what barry did could be that 3or4 way crossover to get the timeline back on track.
Finally Jay Garrick, rather fitting that John Wesley Shipp gets to play the Flash twice he also did the voice of Reverse Flash in the Batman animated series the brave and the bold.
Season 3 Climax was great and so many threads from the comics. I really love how the guys behind this series are real fans of The Flash and bring so many elements into it. Season 4 is going to be really interesting, what will be the cost of Barry's actions, can't wait.
I think you mean season 2, but yeah I totally agree with you. I grew up reading the flash the Wally West the way there able to lift the stories from the comics and stay fateful but yet add new stuff to the show and it still works. Arrow at the moment could learn a thing or two from this show at the moment.

Some news about season 3 CW are going to cast a major recurring character according to TVLine's description of the character, he is "Barry's slightly older, slightly geekier contemporary, a guy who is as smart as he is intuitive. As such, this newcomer doesn't buy Barry’s nice guy routine and sets out to learn what he's hiding -- all while concealing some secrets of his own."
