Aye - been having almost as untidy a week as BangMedia - I pop my head back round the corner and look what's happened!
Dayum, my sig's so appropriate.bladewave
It may have been mentioned before but:
I can't understand why just 912 and 959 were removed but not channel 902?
I think the reason given is 902 is leased by Bang from Playboy so in essence they still broadcast but under another licence
^^something to do with playboy owning and having the broadcast license for that channel, bang just rent the channel

Ofcom is therefore revoking all the licences held by the Licensees with immediate effect on the basis that they are no longer fit and proper to hold those licences. Should the Licensees continue to provide a relevant regulated television service they will be guilty of a criminal offence under section 13(1) of the 1990 Act.

I've spoken to a mate in the legal trade today and his thoughts are that they shouldn't be broadcasting even through another channel, provide a relevant regulated television service , he said these were the key words, but I suppose people will read it differently.
Never thought if it like that

The services appearing on Sky channels 902 and 915 are Tease Me TV2 (as opposed to Tease Me 2) and Climax, owned by and licensed to Playboy TV and independent of Bang Media / Bang Channels Ltd.

There you go mate.

I think Bang Media are using a little loop hole is the law, by saying they are only providing content for another channel.

Playboy only lease out channel 902 on a 24 hour basis, because they no longer have a channel themselves to fill it. I think it used to be there old Spice channel. 915 is only used during the hours playboy themselves are not broadcasting.

It's a way Playboy can get extra revenue, by allowing another channel to use the hours it doesn't broadcast itself. But I dare say, once the lease time runs out, Playboy will probably drop Bang Media, rather than antagonise Ofcom further.

But Bang Media will probably be operating under another name by then, and have it's own channels again.
To be honest with you I would be surprised if Bang are not already to go reconstituted in another name already.I spoke to my colleague across the office as well he advised me that it is incumbent upon the license holder and only the licence holder to ensure that the content is relevant and within the rules.

The content is determined by the licence holder and any contraventions are levied against the licence holder.

As he is a media solicitor and I am a lowly commercial solicitor I shall bow down to his superior knowledge.
