Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.
Utd have contacted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Lauren Blanc to see if they would take the job on a caretaker basis
Didn't Wenger say he was going to be back in football by January?? eek

As United are closer to the drop than the top surely they should give Big Sam the job.

If the Telegraph is to be believed - Solsjaer as caretaker manager with Mike Phelan as assistant.

Mourinho will be missed - by that hotel he's been staying in for the last two and a half years.

The fact that he stayed in a hotel all tenure and never moved into a property in the region speaks volumes.

Mourinho exuded a narcissist's disdain for both Manchester and Manchester United from day one. The suspicion was that he hated the place, the perma-drizzle, the cold and the culture. He prefers the capital cities and the continental trappings. You kinda get that in Chelsea but north of Watford and Jose gets a nosebleed.

He was also managing for his ego, not for the club. Also think Pogba plays for himself and not the club. Two huge egos on a collision course, Manchester was not big enough for the 2 of them.

Mourinho, like all narcissistic leaders, leads by creating splits and conflict to create a siege mentality of paranoia, an "us against the word" dynamic to motivate the team. In his halcyon years, he located the fulcrum of the split outside of the club (think how he dealt with Wenger/Arsenal) and therefore held the dressing room as one against an outside enemy. Unfortunately in recent years, Chelsea/Real/Man U, he has made the mistake of bringing that fulcrum into the dressing room. With disastrous results.

Hi

Expensive but a good choice. He would keep the dressing room and sell the players not up to it at a profit, probably get back Jose's pay-off
