I wonder how close to the truth the cost of replacing the squad that was quoted recently in the press, is?

Like anything you read in the press you should always treat with caution. Full of lies and half truths but seldom the whole truth.
'Absolutely bobbins.'
jones is a good player well he was at rovers reckon he should have stayed at rovers for one season or 2 more think the price tag and the future england captain tag got to his head.

thanks for selling us josh king by the way very good player Wink
I think Jones best position is central/defensive midfield-especially if Van gaal does become manager and plays a 4-3-3, physically hes very good but his touch and composure/mentality let him down now and again so not good enough to play CB imo.

If United can sort out midfield problems this summer then I think the rest of the team will fall into place without needing major changes. Midfield has been terrible all season, hardly any goals or assists, terrible at marking/tracking back. Even Chelsea's defence would find it hard to keep a clean sheet with Uniteds midfield in front of them!

Defence does need some major work too. Vidic and Evra are going, Ferdinand is well past his sell by date and Smalling and Buttner need to be sold on. Jones is good and will get better as he matures. Johnny Evans is too inconsistent but worthwhile as cover.
3 phases, several years and a shed load of money needed.

1 clear out the deadwood like Rio who think they are part of the furniture.

2 Replace said dead wood to get team to current strength.

3 Bring in, if possilbe really WORLD CLASS players to challenge again.

If you don't get LVG you could struggle to get your third choice players never mind Kroos and your other targets.
Decent performance today, Januzaj was great, kagawa and fellaini had decent games, two goals by the youngster and a good finish from rvp. Still wouldn't keep Giggs on as manager though.

If Evra leaves then definitely need a left back, if you have a midfield that helps out in defence then you can get away with the odd defensive mistake in a game, so in that sense a combination of Smalling, Jones and Evans will do temporarily-I'd still buy a cb if its possible.
pleased to see young Wilson get a chance and score 2 goals - has been doing well in the reserves so i was glad Giggsy gave him a chance.

Next season definately need to strenghen the defence Smalling has to go, along with Buttner and i still cant be convinced on Jones, like smalling - way to clumsy giving needless and pointless freekicks and fouls away when no need - that stupid handball he did a few weeks ago summed him up - has gone backwards in his development - like the likes of anderson did - hasn't kicked on and improved as expected - who knows if he had a decent and consistent partner at the back to learn from IE a vidic type player he can learn from who knows! He certainly will only get worse if he has to play alongside that donkey smalling every week.
What's the situation on Phil jones injury? From what 5 live said it didn't look good.
