i think it took all she had mentally to come back from her first gaff. she probably lost it after the second one. maybe not a complete breakdown (hopefully) but something still serious enough to stop her from performing in interview situations.

she's not capable of doing the job, and i think sh's finally come to that realisation herself.

hope she recovers.
Front pages of the Sun and Mail giving their usual unbiased opinion, there billionaire owner's no doubt thinking of the general public, and not their own quest for more power and riches.

sure she will make it about race or the fact shes a women. dont think it is its just she is useless im sure there a lot of able women and black and asian labour mp's that could have done a lot better job than she has ever done.
I see no reason why sex or ethnicity should be a consideration. Jobs should be awarded purely on ability and Abbott was totally unsuitable. Corbyn was giving jobs to his cronies, just like Blair did.

To be fair, given that most of his MPs don't actually support him, he didn't have many to choose from. Rolleyes
Not sure Blair ever slept with any of his team unless he and Gordon Brown were secret lovers laugh

And what's happened to Alex Salmond? Yes I know that he's not the SNP leader any more but he's still one of their leading lights.

He's 'merely' the SNP's Foreign Affairs' spokesman, so not deputy SNP leader, or even SNP Leader at Westminster (though these posts may become vacant after Thursday, if the polls are to be believed Rolleyes ).

Also, he will likely have been concentrating on his own constituency, and the wider North East of Scotland, traditional SNP heartland, which may be under threat from the Tories, given the dominance of the fishing industry in this part of the country, and that industry's opposition to the EU.

Also, this may have played a part more recently:

Former SNP leader Alex Salmond's father Robert dies aged 95

Well, it took quite a long time before the general public found out about Major and Currie, so... ? Rolleyes Wink
Reminder on the Daily Politics programme that John McDonnell signed a letter a couple of years ago proposing the disbandment of MI5 and special armed police squads. Presumably he, Jeremy and Diane intended to have a cosy chat over a cup of tea with terrorists and hug them into being nice young men
