It's said that May and Hammond aren't the greatest of chums, presumably not helped by her 'throwing him under the bus' when she u-turned on the National Insurance rise.
I believe there has been some speculation as to whether he would remain Chancellor if/when the Tories win.
I would love to know his view on how much this election has cost the country

^ There's already been speculation about May's future, given her abysmal campaign for an election that she called - unless she gets a landslide (as she and her party expected when calling the election), some have suggested that she'll be forced out after EU negotiations have concluded.
However, 'a week's a long time in politics', so who knows what the 'climate' will be like then...
